Greeting Senor Pedro (again, kool name)

Beautiful box of bangers. I was wondering...what does the "Extra" stand for?? I'm stuck with a few sublimes from '04, but without the "Extra."

by the way, I have known that they are much more expensive in UK compare to other parts of Europe. La Casa in Teddington has quoted 1500 pounds to me, whereas they sell for 999 euros in Luxembourg and Milan, bought it for 1050 euros in Paris

Pedro han,
I looked for these after they were released in April 2008, but i think they were only supplied in certain markets and as you say they were in very limited supplies.Outstanding purchase and definately a classic. They are the eigth release in the Especial serie and probably the ones which most collectors would like to have.Well done, outstanding buy.

true, it will be very collectable, plus a good investment. They are very hard to find in any place, they were only available at La Civatte and A la cave in Paris. There're rumours, from my chinese friends, that Habanos has only distributed 30 Books to Asia & Pacifics, which in my opinion, is the second biggest market after Europe. Can't stop to wonder where the rest have gone to, and can't stop thinking perhaps Habanos have kept most of them, and planning to release slowly again when the economic crisis is over:confused:

Pedro han, thats a valid point and has certainly been the case in the past with some of the limited editions which came onto the market (Cohida Pyramid 2006 and MC C limited edition), even some of the 2008 LE were only released to certain markets a couple of months after initial release. Not sure if this is down to Habanos or the distributors but it is something to bare in mind.

Senor Pedro, have you ever smoked a Cohiba Sublime EL 04? If so, how would you compare it to the Sublime EL 08?

Have you a source for '04s TJ? I got 5 in a split a few years ago and have smoked all but one. I'd love more but expect they'd cost the earth now

To answer Tjtoro and Steve, no I haven't smoked a 04EL sublimes, although I have a box, bought for about 650 pounds when I was still in China, and recently realized it's a fake. Luckly, the seller is a good friend of mine, and promised I can get the money back. He got it from a german supplier.

I saw quite a lot of 04 Sublimes and 03 DC, but with my 2 year habanos collecting experience, I am pretty sure they are allllll FAKE!! I told the frenchmen, and they all gave me the same answer, say being fake is impossible since they are supplied by the official dealer appointed by Habanos SA. I don't know how the fakes got it, but there they are. Ask to see the box before buying a split, and you will see why if you have a real one.

I believe Davidoff in London still has got a couple of them, not sure if they are real, but the price is 60 pounds:der:. I hope you won't buy it hehehe

No source of mine has them. But I saw a some boxes a few years ago in Mexico for $1,300 US and $2000 US in Canada. So you can only imagine what they cost now. I do have a few that I keep safely stored under lock and key!:lock1:

On very, very rare occasions, I will whip one out and smoke it - but only when the time is right and I can give it my full attention! To do otherwise would be a waste of what I consider one of the very best, if not the best, Habana puros.:flute:

But I would be willing to trade one for a Cohiba Sublime 08. :shakehands:

Know anyone who has one?

Interesting, senor pedro,

I've never bought a "split" and I'm not sure what it is. But I only buy boxes and when buying from in shop, including the LCDH that I patronize, I give them a thorough examination before I do, including opening the box. But you never know, I guess, even when buying from a LCDH!

In the end, the best way to tell is to smoke them. I can honestly say that the Cohiba Sublimes O4s are one of the best, if not the very best, Habana I have smoked...and I've enjoyed a ton from all over the world.

By the way, how did you determine that yours were counterfeit?

Should be cheaper once they hit EU, but the limited numbers mean they will still be upwards of £800 AFAIK.

Hopefully I am wrong.:biggrin1:

Exactly, if you could source some siglo VI's from 5 years ago, in theory, they should be very similar.
