Aye Aye Folks,
An odd one but...
Your never sure ?
My Son is on the verge of accepting a new job in the Media Business in London.
If all goes to plan he'll be moving down at the begining of the year, and on the off chance of anyone down that way, knowing of a room going (cheapish) (not a lot of chance in London) please give me a pm.
Or any advice on room searching down that way, would also be very much appreciated :thumb:
Thanks
Steve :praise:

Thanks for reply :thumb:
His office will be in Leicester Square, so within easy commute (tube) to there.
Last night we were looking online at Fulham, Camden, Highbury, Islington .....etc,

Steve
Can I suggest you PM Bryan, his son has moved a few times in London and is a good lad, he might be able to give your son some tips from someone his own age, always advice which is likely to to be more readily accepted (in my experience).
Regards
Nic

I dont know of any rooms first hand, but advice wise...If you have heard of the place, chances are the price of living there is going to be a lot higher than you would like. Youre best bet, would be to pull up google maps and look at the suberbs one stop away from those youre looking at. For example...
Camden...Very Expensive. One stop away, and well within walking distance, you have Kentish Town, and Tufnell Park, both nice, and both a lot cheaper than Camden.
Islington...If youre looking at Angel, very expensive...Come out a little further, and within 10-15 minutes on the bus, you have Hackney, Stoke Newington, Seven Sisters. All with good transport links to central London.
I can personally recommend Stoke Newington as a great place to live, but it really depends on what kind of thing your son is looking for.
If I hear of any rooms coming up, youll be the first to know!

Stoke Newinghton is a great place to live been here 6 years now but maybe Dalston is slightly cheaper and lots of bars and clubs now open. dare i say a little bit younger crowed than Stoke Newightow, also now has great links into Town.Steve also if he moves around here when you come and vist him a few of us not to far away to have a cigar with:41:
If it still a bit expensive try looking around wood green,Bounds Green a little futher out but good Tube links

Just a thought, I was visiting some great flats in Canary wharf last week. The two bedrooms run out at £1.4m and the three bedrooms at just £2.3m. I'm due back there on Thursday and I could get you the details if you like.
The views are stunning by the way.

Steve, £500 a month is very good and cheap to rent out a room in London. It's about that price where I live in sunny Suffolk! When my brother was doing his BVC he had to look for the cheapest halls of residence and resided in Angel, Islington for a little over £7,500 just for 11 months! London will always be expensive no matter what unfortunately.

Ah, this I didnt know. Stokie is my home for half then year when I'm back in the UK. When I'm back we'll have to grab a smoke and a couple of drinks somewhere local. Not that we have much choice. If its a nice day, the garden at the Wetherspoons always seems to work for me!
