View Full Version : Two tins Davidoff Royalty if you'd like them?

I bought two tins of Royalty at the airport this week - and, having just tried a bowl, it's not quite my style - so, if you'd like them, I'll happily send them over for free. One is unopened. The other has one tiny bit missing, that's all.
Unless you'd like to swap 'em for one tin of something stronger, as my taste as London Mixture / Nightcap, that kind of style/strength. In which case, would be fun.
But, delighted to send them anyway, whoever wants them.

You don't like it? IMHO it's Davidoff's best offering…

Just replied Pandyboy.
Smallclub - yeah, I know, and seeing it's called Royalty - it kinda does suggest it's meant to be good! Just didn't do it for me. Perhaps I'm used to stronger tastes, because of cigars. As I said, Dunhill London Mixture is a revelation: I love it. I'll see if Pandy wants them, if not, will send to you. Or perhaps I could send you one each?

Strange your the second person to give away your davidoff blends for free im wondering if they have changed the mix recently or maybe its just not to your taste kinda makes you wish for 3-5 bowls worth of a sampler instead of having to buy a entire tin.

Agreed Reaver - is there a place to get samplers? I know I like quite strong tobacco (from a sample of two smoked so far!)... but don't really know what I'm doing at all when it comes to choosing new blends.

Grrens of Leeds do samplers.

Strong blends containing latakia, available in the UK:
Samuel Gawith Commonwealth Mixture (earthy and smoky)
Ashton Artisan's Blend (same genre as Nightcap)

Try some black or brown bogie.... Reported to be "knock your socks off strong"

Wow, that's really kind L-Dog. Just next time you're in, if you could ask if they do any samplers of 'things sort of a bit like Dunhill's London Mixture, for someone who likes that kinda thing'?! Thanks so much

I will have to ask though. Won't be for a good week as I am a bit busy with some portfolio work! In time...!

Thanks L-Dog... although clearly I really do know nothing about tobacco - as some online reviews of London Mixture say it is mild and mellow - and I had it down as strong. I know nothing!!

Thanks for this suggestion Pandy - I've just looked at their samples, this is exactly what I've been looking for - a chance to try a few different tastes to find what I like

Check out Gauntleys of Nottingham too - they do a few pre-prepared sample packs at reasonable prices, but Glynn who is in charge there is such a pipe enthusiast I bet he would do a custom sampler for you if you gave him a call and went through your likes and dislikes...
