UKCF mates,

Have anyone seen or tried the Ramones Allones Edicion Limitada (http://www.cigaraficionado.com/Cigar/CA_Features/CA_Feature_Basic_Template/0,2344,2742,00.html):noidea:

I am a big fan of the ELs since the first one I had the pleasure to enjoy - the Cohiba Sublime EL 04. I've been collecting and enjoying them ever since. And being a fan of Ramon Allones, would love to hear more about this one and perhaps, just perhaps, get my mits on one or two. :p

Gracias muchachos, :41:

TJ, it can start to get confusing when you start to track all the Regionales from the different brands, as they offer the different vitolas which are released to different geographical markets.

I have never even seen this particular Vitola (in your photo) before, but its dimensions would indicate a marvellous smoke.

RA released the Francia (belicosos) and the Emenencia (corona gorda) late in 2008/ early 2009, in very limited numbers and only in certain markets.
I know that these two Vitolas can be sourced in Belgium, France and also in Holland I believe, yet they are not supplied to the UK or spanish market.

Like I said, quite confusing.Hope you manage to track some of these down TJ.

Phoenicios, in boxes of 30, came out quite a while ago, I believe some are still available in Beirut airport for $600.
I saw a website recently selling them for $800, I can't remember the name of the site now but I can remember not liking the look of them, that is, I didn't trust it.
Habanos are apparently issuing a second release of boxes of 15 of these, not out yet as far as I know.
These should be easier to find, re-releases usually are, eg. the Edmundo Dantes and RA Belicosos.
You could have a look for the Ramon Allones Grandes, last years RE for Spain(although only released earlier this year).
With 12,000 boxes of 10 released at ?110 a box, these would be easier to get.

You should try the RA Estupendos, a brilliant smoke :41:

I think you might find them located in Cyprus. I haven't used them for years, you will get an unwanted additional bill, packages marked as "Cigars" :(

Some odd pricing on that site, $245 for Partagas Culebras. That's 6 times the price I've seen them elsewhere.

I don't see the point of the RA Grandes - they're basically slightly-stumpy Gigantes with a different name although the blend will be different I'm sure

Cool!! :biggrin1: Where did you hear they're to be re-issued Ryan?

I know France had a version of our RA Belicoso but as the French don't seem to able to ship tobacco abroad I've never seen them anywhere :frown:

Here's a source of the news, I don't know if posting this link is ok here.
If it's a problem please let me know and I'll remove it.

I had one of the French RA Belicosos in Geneva (not France I know but very close) last October. Nice cigar but very young.

True, they are a 1/2 inch shorter. The packaging is very nice though, that 3-4-3 box does it for me every time, and they are cheaper (slightly) in Spain than the Gigantes.
A re-issue of the RA 898 and I'd have flown to Spain especially. As it is I can wait a couple of months..

I'm afraid I haven't.
I got a couple from a friend who was in Madrid last month.
I'll be in Spain at the end of June, I'm hoping to pick up a box then if I get a chance to get to a decent estanco.

What part of Spain are you off to? Just in case anyone here knows where to point you in the right direction.

I'm going to a town called Chiclana, just south of Cadiz. A bit off the beaten track.
To be honest I know it quite well, I've been a number of times before. There used to be a good shop there but it closed two years ago. There is still a little estanco in the town centre with some nice finds, some 05 P2s last year, but usually no regionals.
The nearest decent shop I know is Cava de Betis in Seville but I don't always get a chance to get there.
I always make a trip to Gibraltar when I'm there and the wife doesn't like the idea of me leaving her with the kids for two cigar trips.
If anyone knows of a good estanco in Cadiz, I'd love to hear, that's only 30 minutes away from where I'll be.

The Montes TJ.
Never got the chance to try the Cohibas myself unfortunately, although it wasn`t from the lack of trying.
