I`m not generally a great fan of R&J.Have tried a few vitolas over the years and apart from the Churchill and the No4, there are other cigars I would prefer if given the choice.
I have been reading some decent reviews for the EL Escudos 2007.If anyone has tried them can you give me some feedback as to their strengths or weaknesses, and how they compare to the likes of the No4 taste wise.:smoke:

I've only had two of them and loved them. Better than the #4 IMHO and way better than the over-rated Churchill (there, I've said it...let the flaming begin)
Are you thinking of a wee split!?!

I like a few of the R&J range. So i'd give it a try.
Disapointed at you stevie, I completely agree with you about the Monte 2 being over rated but the R&J Churchill:confused:? never. Its one of my favorite smokes and churchills are my favorite type of cigar...
You broke the covenant with that one:mad: and you call your self a Scot.

LOL!!! Sorry Big Lad but I've never had one that's made me sit up and go 'WOW' and I've had a good dozen or so from 4 or 5 sources...
I do like the Churchill shape though, the best being the Upmann Sir Winston or the Bolivar Coronas Gigante or the Esplendido

If I knew you were an unbeliever I would send you a couple of of the quality sticks to get the devil out of you. But, unforunately, I ran out last month. However its a staple part of my cigar diet and i'll be restocking as soon as I get a good deal and i'll be sure to send a couple your way.
Been a while since I had one but the H Upmann Winston is a quality smoke :cowboyic9:

I have top say i think the R&J churchill is a great cigar. Its a switch off, familiar, comfortable smoke for me. Apart from that I can pretty much take or leave most of the R&Js... horses for courses I suppose.

Drew - the short churchill and the Exhibition #4 are both top smokes...well worth a punt :41:

I had a short churchill which was delicious. Compared to other RyJs I've had, it seems that some of the newer tobacco blends have more complex flavors. :mullet:

Totally agree with you!! I was always a fan of the Exhi #4 but hadn't had one for ages. In-between times, I smoked lots of Short Churchills then tried the #4 again and it seemed fairly non-descript/basic in comparison. That's not to say it's not a good smoke, just that the SC is better (IMO)
