Inspired by Dale's stick size poll. I thought I'd have a wee play with the poll gizmo :)
Your country is to hold a referendum to decide the nation's favourite Cuban cigar brand. You're allowed one vote and when the votes are in the brand with the most votes wins and all other brands are to banned from the country.
CHOOSE NOW...CHOOSE WISELY :)
(The poll only allows 10 items so I picked what I felt to be the 10 most famous)

It`s a difficult one stevieboy and goes against the grain, having to pick only one.
Will be interesting to see the eventual winner.Bookies would give good odds with MC IMO.

I reckon MC will come out tops myself.
HdM Whisk:eek:! I've not got a vast experience with them apart from DC, Petit Robustos, some of the ELs & Epi 2. Am I missing any other masterpieces?? The range is collosal

Monte's for me, though I suspect persons with more knowledge can easily identify a better brand.

That is a tough one. I haven't smoked a great deal of Cuban cigars, but it would be between Ramon Allones and Cohiba for me.

Why is life full of difficult choices??
OK, I vote Cohiba. I am partial to a Siglo VI and Esplendidos when the ££ is available, and Cohiba has more of a "variety"

I've gone for the Party factor. Actually only smoked the D4 and the P2, but I like the overall flavour. Would have gone for something like the Bolivar, but the range is too limited to satify my BOTLs.

Hoyo for me.
Massive range with some very complex smokes in there and they're very consistent IMO.

Hard choice... but got to be Partagas in the end.

Fascinating poll, and I've only just realised that if you click on the number of votes you can see who voted for what:cool::cool::cool:

Neck and neck between Partagas and Cohiba....thought Monte would have more of a showing. Surprised no-one's picked RA!?!?! I nearly did myself but it was the limited range that stopped me. I picked Partagas to hedge my bets even though Partagas doesn't figure in my top 3....the sheer range was what did it...............
For me, it's the range of Partagas cigars still being produced that makes it a no brainer.
I fact if Partagas only had the 898V, P2, D4 and Shorts, it would still be my choice.
Then add the Serie du Conn series, Lusitanias, Mille Fleurs etc. etc. ..
this is a tough one...my staple diet exists of Romeo Churchills and Partagas no 4.
However I am fan of Trinidads, Cohibas, Upmanns, Bolivars and Hoyos.
Cant we decide on which one to kick out instead?
ended up going with partagas, got a decent range, good all round smoke and reaonably priced compared to the likes of Cohiba and Trinidads

I would have thought they'd be higher too...Paratagaswas always going to be top 3. I have to say I'm gobsmacked at the the high placing of HdM!!!! 1001 have a HdM sampler just now...I'm not familair with much of whats on offer apart from DCs & Epi #2. Worthwhile???
(Sorry for listing the prices...I don't work for these guys...honest :))

That certainly looks like a fair selection Stevieboy, and there are a couple there which are no longer in production.
I smoked a box of the Epicure Especial when they first came out and I thought they were a great smoke, but the No2 is still a tough one to beat.
I have probably smoked more of these than any other cigar.
Still not tried the Regalos, yet!will try the R&J Escudos first.

Le Hoyo Du Roi is a great smoke, especially if you can get one with some age on it.
I remember buying a 5 pack with about 8 years on them and they were covered with bloom.
One of the best smokes I've had.

Des dueux is also very good, which is there twice! go for it stevieboy, the guy that owns this site is a very knowledgeable cigar smoker and source's a lot of his stock with age on, so may well be 6/7 years old, if you can keep des dueux until it reaches the second maturation period (the long chain phenol polymers (tannic taste) break down to single aromatic phenols which then creates wonderful array of sweet aromatic exotic hardwood flavours) they are exceptional, but only with age! (had one in Hong Kong 2 years or so ago (1993/4 vintage I think) the slightly dry Hoyo woody taste become's a little sweeter, creamier with more complexity,
