I was fortunate to have the chance to smoke a NC Man O War Double Corona 7.5 x 42. here is my humble review of this satisfying smoke:

'Based on a 100 point scale,70 possible points for taste, 20 possible points for burn, 5 possible points for appearance and 5 possible points for aroma.'

Taste - A wonderful medium to full bodied flavor. On the initial light It gave just a hint of pepper nothing to get to excited about. Bearing in mind that this is 7.5 inches long the first third was giving out a mild pepper earthy taste. The second third of the cigar still gave you that touch of full flavour with the spice, but in kicked a smooth almost sweet, molasses flavour, the second third stayed consistantly smooth. Overall, an outstanding tobacco blend. The finish and final third was pleasant and long-lasting, the smoothness lasted no pepper, but just mild mellow, a good blend of tobaccos 45/70.

Burn - An even burn with only a small adjustment at the begining probaly down to my light, after that it righted its self and no further problems or attention was needed. The cigar was rolled correctly not being over tight. Plumes of lovely white volumous smoke from evey draw. 20/20

Appearance - An excellent well presented cigar, the outer leaf wrapper which was not overly veiny. Good even construction. The viola was well designed and a keep. 5/5

Aroma - A lovely aroma that I enjoyed and my opinion would be enjoyed by a non smoker. 4/5

Total - 74/100

Conclusion
A wonderful smooth med to just full smoke, I like the fact despite its length I did not get whacked on the head with the strength, and did not get bored with the smoke. Total smoke time around 2 hours approx. I enjoyed the cigar that much that I nubbed it to the point that I was burning my lips even after 2 hours, I do not generally take my smokes that far. If med to full is your smoke and you have a few hours to relax in then this is worth a try. I for one would smoke it again luckliy I have a few more to be going on with.

Great review. I enjoy the MoW. There is a new one called Man O War Ruination which is supposedly more full bodied.

Great review, Paul. :smoke:

I can confirm that you smoked this monster down to within a millimetre of its life on Sunday lol.

A great stick for a man-talk session - and one that kept its ample taste all the way.

A very good quiet "sitter" of a cigar at rest, too.

Just as for you, probably equals the longest cigars I've smoked.

I get a huge buzz out of lighting up a BIG cigar like this and walking round the streets of a busy city and showing off. :cowboyic9:

Nice review, SD; however, I must point out that this big honker of a stogie is, in fact, 7.5 x 52, not 42. I have a fiver of these, of which I've smoked only one to date and loved all of the almost 2 hours of it. Oddly, the one I smoked had obviously been rolled with 2 distinct wrapper leaves which produced completely different -- albeit, very tasty -- flavo(u)rs.
