Pinar sells pre-embargo Cubans through Tinderbox. The filler, wrapper and binder are all from 1956 I believe. The U.S. Courts recently ruled in favor of letting the company begin to roll and sell 50,000 pounds of tobacco they have been storing since 1956 and the cigars are about $20 a piece. I know you can order them online at the Tinderbox location in Charleston South Carolina. I just bought a couple when I was there last week. They are very good, rich smokes even after 50 years. :849:

But that's just me, :bandit: TJ, TJCoro, and I'm really, really sorry about the shitty pics. To lazy to get my camera.

That is truely amazing, I had no idea that cigars as old as these would still be around for regular folks to pick-up, as long as you don't mind the high price. Being a newbi to the cuban cigar scene, I wouldhave thought that private collectors from all over the world would have bought up most of these.

Thing is, it's really hit and miss with these; they can be amazing, but they can also be barely smokable! It's a risk that's for sure.

The "collectors" as you say, have probably got most of the really good stuff between them I would say (mostly Dom Perignon and Davidoff's I think).

A lot of it comes down to how they've been kept down the (many) years.

Lot's of people believe that a cigar begins to "lose it" after about 15 years anyway, although there are exceptions.

Finally, pre-embago and Cuban government intervention, there were literally hundreds of brands, so it's a minefield!

ive had a few of these and they are not too bad. they are nothing to write home about either. some of them are 100% cuban tobacco and some are blended with tobacco from other places like honduras, nicaragua, or the dr. havent had one in a few years. will look for some next time i go to the city.
