I like to visit cigar shops on my travels. This afternoon i popped into Taylors Tobacconist in Brighton. It has a largeish walk in humidor but today total was total EMPTY not a single stick in it at all.
It just reminded me of the old monty python cheese shop sketch
Do you have any Cohibas - Normally Sir yes but today the van broke down
Montecristos - Yes.....Oh no the Cat just Smoked it.
Anyway i hope this is not the sign of things to come for high street cigar retailers.

I work NEXT door (ok about 10 doors up on Church Street) to Taylors. He has an 'issue' with his Cuban supplier at the moment (has for about 2 months so far it seems). But they're quite expensive if I remember correctly from the last time he had stock. We'll see what happens when he's next with product.

Indeed. Which makes it odd. Though I suspect there's many 'distributors' on behalf of H&F, and I presume this is what he must mean.

Yet he is listed as a retailer H&F website you would of thought he could buy direct from them??

All I know is that what he's said (twice) and it's been quite a while now.

Spoke to him today, he's sorted H&F out but may not re-stock and only go with tubos from now on, due to sales etc.
Great shame, but I never bought from there anyway, way too expensive even for the UK.

It is a shame i do like popping in to high street shops just to see if they have anything interesting. The high taxes are killing high street tobbacconists.

Well he won't have very good sales if he has nothing to sell...
I'm sure someone else mentioned that they found that shop a little disappointing before.
