Guys,
I don't smoke much at all but are Cuban cigars really that much better than those of other nations?
You telling me that no other cigar brands beat some of the Cuban ones?

Not all Cuban brands are good IMO but no where in the World can match the majority of them :41:
Cubans 99.99999999 % of the time for me

I don't think the very best NC would ever beat the best CC...just MHO but Cubans do take some beating (as does the price )

I have to say that I love Cubans but over time and trading with my BOTL over the pond I have come across some great NCs ie Padron etc they are fantastic smokes and although dearer than the average NC cigar they are for me one of the best smokes i have had, great.
You need to try some NCs before making total judgements.

Well said,
there are definatley a lot of great NC smokes out there.
I think if you swap between NC's and CC's you can have a great time. Bit like having 2 mistresses, you always get something from one the other doesnt give.

I have tried only limited amounts of NC, and some of them were very good indeed, however compared on a like for like basis, IMO the Cubans will win most of the time.:smoke:

Bloodhound, interesting point. The first thing I'd say is that all Davidoffs are Dominican Republican, and seem to be receiving wild reviews on the European continent. Why? First, the brand has boomed over recent years due to the Oettinger Group turning it into a lifestyle icon; second, the embargo has done wonders for non-Cuban sticks.
But the Cubans I have enjoyed - have been exceptional. It's a matter of taste as much as anything. Interesting to hear your views gents.

If you have to ask, perhaps you're not smokin' authentic puros. :dontknow:
:nerd: That said, I have smoked a shit-load of NC stogies over the years and there are some very good NC cigars that I keep around, such as Davidoff. But as some wise soul said in a peivious post, the best NC can not beat the finest Habano puros available today. :41:
But hey, that's just me, :bandit: TJ, TJCoro, and I'm certain their are others out there (:mullet:) who have a different opinion.
:juggle: Jimmy crack corn and I don't care.
