I'm up for Kent or Sussex. Maybe the border? Hastings, maybe?

Stogiedog

Dale always safe with me mate.

Deano could be an option that border meet, got to say I am not well aquintated with Hastings though in terms of a meet location. All things in play still. :cowboyic9:

How about Rye or Winchelsea?
Very nice places, and Paul McCartney lives just up the road.

I only say this because I just drove two hours from Deal to near Brighton and back on Friday in band convoy for an engagement (possums) late afternoon and Winchelsea and Rye stand out as places to smoke at the half-way point that look civilised and not chavvy.

Hastings looked worse than Margate.
Now that IS bad.

I'm all up for smoking with the brethren but have 25 gigs in the calendar before September. The off days me and the missus tend to do a runner.

I will have to look at my diary and see some dates.
And I can't do that now because I'm out of the door to a gig. :cowboyic9:

I've looked through my diary and Fri, Sat and Sun are going to be nigh-on impossible for me over Summer.

Apologies, men.

Rye maybe suitable will certainly suit me and Robusto. The George hotel is a good venue situated in the centre of Rye and has a courtyard garden. I have stayed in the hotel before the renevation and used the bar after the revamp, very nice surroundings. Please see the link see what you all think.

http://www.thegeorgeinrye.com/foodanddrink/CourtyardGarden.html

There is a rail station in Rye do not now what the rail timetables are like though.

Accommodation should be available as it is a Hotel if people would like to stay over? But you will have to organise that individualy once we have dates sorted out.

Dates will have to be agreed Robusto has a fairly full gig guide so I think we should try and work around his availablity!!

It looks like a good venue.

Check the George Hotel out and leave feedback about the proposed venue please for those interested.

I lived in Tun Wells for 5 years and there are a few good places for a cigar meet. The Barn, The Beau Nash, Hotel du Vin to name a few all have good outdoor areas and the Hotel du Vin has its cigar shack (used it and the Henley shack, very nice but pricey booze)

Tunbridge Wells good for trains too.

Just my tuppence worth.

I sat down with my wife when school broke up last week and we had a hell of a job finding together time to visit the in-laws up North.

Most of the gaps are filled in Fri Sat Sun, and if I don't spend time with her on those free rare Fri thru Sun times then she will quite rightly divorce me.

The band is flat out with work til October, when it cools down from being insane to just very busy.

At present, a weekday would be easier for me - but even then I'm away for at least three of the six weeks.

I'm not being intentionally awkward, I promise!

I don't have the spare wad to stay overnight at the George Hotel - more grounds for divorce - and would want to drive there and back in a day.

I'm the one spoiling the plans. Rule me out, chaps.

PS There is no impending divorce but I must play my cards right.

Interpret THAT one! :smoke:

PPS The Tunbridge Wells suggestion is a good one, and I had been thinking about proposing it.

A word of warning for you all - your cuban cigar habit is far cheaper to run than a divorce lawyer..........

I'm doing a full-time weekday job and a full-time weekend job.
I have to be careful not to be cited for negligence.
It will not come to that, but ships in the night is often how we are.

Why don't people use the arbitration services rather than divorce proceedings?

I'd hate to go through any of that shit, but if we went tits up, I like to think we are intelligent and rational enough to make sure money wasn't wasted.

Fortunately we are in love, and we are in love with our kids.

Bryan its fine, I certainly understand mate.

I am happy to meet anyone at almost any time. I commute through Tunbridge Wells just about so that would be fine.

I just thought that it would be nice for all those living in the southern area to meet. If we cannot agree times and dates due to other committments then thats fine. There will be countless other occasions when we can get together.

If people still want to meet let me know and I will organise something.

Paul.

Let me know what comes together and, if it suits, I will come if I can.

I'll drive over to TW in the week when I have nothing on and will drive back after some decent smoking. This til September, of course, when I'm back in chains.

It's getting like Kiss Chase now! lol
