To all members im thinking on placing a raffle for a single Cohiba Siglo VI Tubos on the forum.
http://www.cliparthost.com/accounts/wonderland/picturesofstix/Cohiba_Siglo_VI_T.JPG
Each member will have to Enter for ?1
Before i place the auction i need to know how many of you will want to participate in the raffle before i go ahead with it.
If there is more than 20 members who want to play i will then go ahead & then i will ask for the raffle entry cost of ?1 from each of you either by cheque/postal order.
But if there is less than 20 members the Raffle won't go ahead. (Need to cover the cost of the Siglo & P+P to the winner)
So if your interested in participating in the Siglo VI raffle please place your name in this section of the forums
EVEN THOUGH I HAVE REACHED THE MINIMUM ENTRIES, I WILL WAIT 2 WEEKS TO DO THE DRAW, TO GIVE OTHER MEMBERS A CHANCE TO PARTICIPATE.
THANKS.
I would rather a cheque or postal order for the raffle entry fees.
Please send me PM for address to send cheque or postal order.
THE AUCTION WILL BE DRAWN ON THE 20TH OF SEPTEMBER, & WILL GIVE OTHER MEMBERS A CHANCE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RAFFLE & ALSO PLENTY OF TIME TO PAY ALL YOUR ENTRY FEES BEFORE THE DATE.

1. RhiannonBW paid ?2

Embracing risk keeps you young they say (though personally, I think embracing the young is pretty risky as well)...so in an effort to slow the signs of premature aging...yes, I'm in for a pound!! :D

I'll ante up. Can I send it through, or do you prefer some other method of payment?
P.S. Since I live in the states, if I were to win I would like you to send it over to Deano as a gift for starting and maintaining this fine web site. That way you wouldn't have to be concerned with all of the customs cloaking you would need to do to mail it to the US.

Hi Larry,
Thats a nice gesture, but no trouble sending to the states, its up to you anyway, some members are paying more to have a better chance some have paid ?2 upwards. ie.. if you pay ?2 you get 2 tickets with your name in the hat & so on.
I wont be taking any money yet, will do in the next week or 2, will let you all know when i need the entry money.
Monte.

Hi Monte,
What are you going to do with all the excess cash? I'm thinking coach trip to Cuba with BennyTours perhaps? :D
Seriously though, are you going to have a second prize? Or maybe run this raffle regularly - for example, I'd be happy to stick in more money as an "account" so that I could enter more raffles without making lots of separate payments. What do you think?
Anyway, please put me in for ?2 (rather than the one I offered earlier) for this one ...a vain effort to compete with all the obviously well-off forum members... :) Also to make me feel marginally less silly writing a cheque for just ?1!
Must admit, I prefer the idea of a raffle like this rather than having to post off cigars and risk the vagaries of the Royal Mail. Probably me just being lazy though...
Great idea anyway, and thanks for running with it.
Best,
Wildwood

Starting off with this raffle to see how it goes.
This is for one prize only the siglo VI (as stated on the 1st page) if your paying ?1 - ?10 to enter the raffle & win the siglo VI you have done very well! (as you well know cant get many siglo VI for that price).
If members wish/chooses to place more than the ?1 entry into the raffle to increase their chances of winning its their choice.
However, at the end of the day its the luck of the draw.
(good luck to all members)
If i do another raffle on here i will consider a second place prize.
Kind Regards
Monte.

I agree with wildwood there as a raffle is best as i think this is the best idea yet to have a raffle and at least once moneys have been paid (your in to win).Even better if there are second prize stuff,,,aww like jose piedra,,wink wink wink,,only joking ,,,but on a serious note its the best idea yet,not worried about excess money thats left over as this is a raffel and the more you put in the more chances you have, like monte said where can you get one of these babys for a pound or even ?10,well done monte.:D

Hey, don't misunderstand me guys...I'm not worried about any excess either...hence the big grin smilie and BennyTours joke ...just trying to push the idea forward.
As said, I think it's a great idea and appreciate Monte's efforts. And I'll still feel silly writing a cheque for ?2! :)

Well ya gotta have a go,maybe next time if andy gets enough members to have a go he might even do a runner up prize which is cool.im a bit glad he came up with this idea as it saves posting cigars as they might not turn up or get dammaged.bloody royal mail
Monte put me in for ?2 and I'll put the payment in with the cigars I'm sending this week if that suits?

Although I firmly believe that I actually won and that Monte just didn't want to send the damn cigar across the pond so he just kept picking until I didn't win, I offer my hearty congratulations Wildie.

If you did win Rokkitsci or Larrysputnik i would of been more than happy to send the cigar to the states, as i know you guys are deprived of cubans.
Talking of cubans did you receive your cigars from the first raffle ok??

Eck-shoe-alley (how's my pronounciation?) we have spoken of this, Monte.
Remember? My surprise at receving so many tubos of the same cigar...
It's alright, old chap, I fully understand. It's completely natural. As we get a bit long in the tooth, we tend to get confused and forget some things to confuse to forget to forget some things that we tend to forget to forget some things that we tend to confuse to forget.

OMG! What a beauty!!
It's arrived as you can probably tell. Got home last night only to discover that it had turned up when my wife was picking Number 1 son up from school...and I had to go to the local sorting office at 7a.m. to collect it. Nail biting stuff!! :D
Monte - you packed it up so well that I couldn't get into it in the car! :) So I've just opened it now at work. It's sitting on my desk calling to me...I think I'm going to find it hard to concentrate today!!
I might save it for when the new baby arrives (if I can resist that long) - what do you think? Don't reckon I'll get my hands on a better quality cigar than the Siglo VI...
Once again folks, many thanks, especially to Monte...but really to all who joined in. I hope you are all lucky yourselves next time...if you know what I mean.
Cheers,
Wildwood
