NUB Habano Torpedo

After a gym session and a great sunny day, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to smoke, we haven't had sun in the UK for sometime now, and we all should know a windless, sunny evenings are the perfect time for a days reflection.
This is my second NUB, courtesy of jamesmids. I had my first nub with some friends over a card game. My experience was average. Getting it lit was so-so. I felt like I had to work a bit just to keep it smokeable, it was OK.
I thought this would be the choice of smoke today; and i'm glad it was!
Getting it lit was the standard fare, a gentle rotation above my flame to get the outer rim going, and a soft blow on the foot so the lit outskirts met the middle of the cigar. After a few minutes of care we was ready for business.
I find with NC's that the first inch or so isn't flavorsome, you have to get down a bit to hit the flavors but this torpedo was giving me some pinchy flavors right away. Couldnt put my finger on it but it was nice and light and easy going. Admiring the strong white ash forming, it was going well! Much better than the first time around. I think It was easier going due to the torpedo end. I found with the normal shape NUB that the large gauge was hard to get good draws, but with this, it was quite satisfying.
Working my way down, and slowly down, I was getting some strong chocolate tones. very nice too. I was outside watching this burn away quite merrily, it was forming a consistent amount of blue smoke in the sun which was good to watch, and I thought that was quite an achievement with the large ring gauge.
My visual buffs were a sunny evening so that increases the enjoyment automatically. Easy draws and nice volume smoke, this was good.
Occasionally the wrapper wasnt keeping even but that was soon sorted thanks to mr clipper. I cant really say much else; a very consistent smoke, nothing was going wrong.
When the first tier of ash ungracefully fell off (I knocked the ashtray on the floor and the ash exploded off, whoops), there was no coning, which was surprising, as the first NUB revealed some major coning. Even burn on this big gauger. In the words of borat.....wawa-we-wa!
Getting down the cigar, things were getting better and better. Flavors were getting stronger and smoke was getting thicker. I didn't want to put it down, I smoked it right down til I could barely hold it and draw on it. I let the cigar die a dignified death, in true NUB spirit;
By letting it to rest on its own ash. Thank you Mr nub for the good evening smoke.
Overall: 8/10 - Due to the first nub being soso, I wasnt too sure what to make of the NUB brand, but my disposition soon changed after this smoke. Very steady, very consistent, burns very well by itself, I found if you let it burn on its own, it solves any coning issues that may of occured from a hastey-quick light. Take your time with it and you'll be merry, very merry.
I'd like to try the cameroon wrapper in the future.
