Padron Anniversary 1926 (specially the Torpedo Maduro) is my personal Favorite None Cuban Cigar.
Back in Harrods last years I sold lots of boxes of 8's cigars from the Limited Edition Blend for Orlando Padron 80's Birthday.
I have smoked couple of them and I absolutely love it...the richness of Coconut with that remarkable taste of his tobacco, a very well balanced blend with fantastic draw and extraordinary medium complexity!!!
Congratulation for your superb smoke..my mouth is practically watering now...
Enjoy your day.
Magu.

these used to be my fav... but i was limited here...

but then again... the siglo costs me half then this fine cigar in california... stupid 75% above wholesale tax and then 10% sales tax kills it here...

and they're about to pass yet another $1.00 per cigar tax...

sigh...

Laxcaux has been trying to get me to try the 80th stick but when we tried to obtain one from JJ Fox they didn't have singles for sale. I tried the JJ Fox "branch" at Selfridges but they also could not help. Anybody know of any singles for sale in the UK?

Each cigar has a unique serial number on the label. Contact Padron to make sure they are authentic. These cigars are often counterfeited.

In case anyone is confused about the #1s in the picture, they were purchased at a discounted price because as you can see there is damage. Some the damage is to the foot of the cigar and some have damage near the cap. I put them in the photo because I may consider selling them in the near future. I haven't made up my mind about smoking them all or selling off one or two to some of you because the price might interest those of you overseas who typically end up paying so much in shipping costs. That said, feel free to PM me about them if you do indeed have any interest. :cowboyic9:

that cellophane troubles me kind of. i hope that they have decided to start doing that with their cigars. stopped today to see my dude tony at the shop and told him there have been some with cellophane floating around. he said the ones he just got in didnt have cellophane. never has he ever seen any anniversary edition with cellophane. and those 45th family reserves didnt have it either. makes me wonder why they wouldnt put it on their newest cigar if they were going to use it? weird!

larrysputnik
05-11-2009, 01:23 AM
I think something's weird about this too. I'm going to look into it a bit more so that TJ doesn't end up smoking worms when he lights up one of those bad boys. Unless he likes worms, but between you, me and the CoH banner, I think worms are more BJ's thing anyway. :(

larrysputnik

I called Padron and asked about this. They told me that some boxes have cellophane and some don't. It depends on the box. They recycle their boxes and if the box is in the right condition the cigars are placed in the box without cellophane. But sometimes the box and the lining and cedar divider are imperfect and the cigars are safer being shipped with cellophane around each individual cigar.

I didnt try that 45th until the next day! Backtrack and check out the time line here! haha The 80th was top dog of padrons until I tried the 45th. So far I am the only guy I know of who has tried it yet. My regular shop has not even got this in yet. Weird as they are the first to get all the cool stuff. Anybody hear about any ratings on the 45th? Kind of curious as to what the "experts" say.

CA gave it a 94 I think. I better check that when I go downstairs, but it was one of the top cigars in the issue. :41:

:eek:WHEW!!!!

I found the CA review of the Padron 1926 80 years maduro - FUCKIN' 95!

CA Mag, April 2008 - A beautifully pressed figuardo tapered at both ends. It is rich with coca, leather and coffee flavors, yet balanced by notes of toast, orange peel and a sweet, spicy finish. Complex. Rating - 95

:five:

:pray:Thank God!!!

BTW - I found an excellent video review of the 45 HERE! (http://www.stogiereview.com/2009/09/10/padron-family-reserve-45-years-maduro/);)

I know someone who smoked his first Cuban with the cedar still on it. He thought that's what you were supposed to do. :849:

(Come to think of it, I think his name was VJ or TJ or something? He claims he is from Mexico.) :41:
