Not got a PDA, but I'm thinking of getting something to put names, numbers and addresses in. I expect there's nothing so simple, and it will have other capabilities.

Does anyone have any suggestions that won't break the bank please?

Most mobile phones available now would take care of all that.

u can get a used blackberry on ebay for about 20 quid. Syncs up easily enough with outlook, keeping everything fairly organised.

Well Hell! How about that...:baby: sonny boy. I was born in 1933:rolleyes:, so that make me...um, older than you. :41::41:

Now grab your dusty old notebook and pencil and take some dictation:deal:. I want to send a :suspicious:nasty-gram to some of the newbies. :damnmate:

Names :bandit: TJ, TJCoro, and I'm just funnin' with the old geezer

IMPORTANT NOTICE: I increased the font size so the geezer(s) won't have to strain his/their eye balls. :stoned:

I've got an IPhone and don't like it much TBH. I'm a simple guy (doh) and don't take advantage of it's features I guess:der: I want the thing predominantly for work contacts and the like.

Hey Drew, that could be just the jobby. Thanks, I'll drop you a PM and we can swap addys:smile:

TJ, you're probably right, not sure about the US issue as some units aren't tri-band, but thanks mate.

Craig, WTF, get with it mate. Everyone knows there's pens these days:p:biggrin1:

Thanks for all the responses:rock:

Wont be the latest model, but there's even brand new boxed units going for that price. there was also a pretty recent used blackberry curve that sold for £40 today.

No Probs R, saw this on ebay for a new blackberry curve. biddings at £3 pound with less than 2 hrs to go. but the seller has zero feedback. might be woth a punt as your protected by ebay. would be interesting to see what it goes for.

Well I have the iPhone3G and hate it utterly. Any suggestions (polite). Thinking of trying a blackberry but fear I will hate that also, I may have a punt on ebay but I want to try the Storm or Bold, still big money. Some of the HTC units looks interesting, the HTC TouchPro and TouchPro2 look good but too expensive again. Any suggestions? Is the Nokia Communicator still about?

If you've got your heart set on a blackberry then I'd go for thr Bold, Mr T.
Storm being touch screen, might be to close to an iphone.

I think the blackberry is a better business phone which syncs up with all the microsoft packages easy enough but the other apps that are out for it are crap. the iphones better for media...IMO

Have to agree with KDot on the BB Bold, really good for business reasons, though I can't deny it would be nice to have a few of those cool iPhone apps

for email push fuctions what kind of sim is needed? If i put a sim in with unlimited data is that all thats needed?

Kdot
30-08-2009, 10:06 PM
Panto,

you'll need a blackberry service plan for the push email features which includes unlimited data. o2 charge a tenner a month for this.

there's other plans out there, but if you want to download attachments and deal with hundreds of emails a month then it's the best choice.

And use a 3G compatible sim.

Call o2 by dialing 202 free from an o2 fone. And tell them to Change the data bolt on to "blackberry unlimited" bolt on and everything should be sorted regarding unlimited data and push email services.
