Hello, Mates!!

I got a bug up my ass and decided to throw a little NC competition. I was just going to bomb one of you, but I decided a competition will be a little more exciting. I want to do this as my way of saying thank you to all of you whom have made this the best cigar forum around, and for welcoming me as you have done. Also, I realize that it is more difficult for UK members to get their hands on NC, as it is for us in the US to get habanos.

The competition is simple. I have chosen a number from 0 to 1,000. I have written that number down, photographed it, and downloaded it on to my computer. Anyone that wishes to enter simply posts a number between 0 and 1,000 on this thread. Whoever is closest to my number, over or under, will win a NC sampler of 25 smokes. (Pic attached)

Granted, these are not Padron 1926 80th cigars or even comparable. I cannot afford to give those away. (I wish I could). Hell, I don't even have any of those. However, they are still quality smokes in the lower to mid price range. Yeah, some are cheapies, but still make a good yard gar. Anyway, it is a good way to sample some NC.

I thought of requiring anyone wishing to participate to make a donation to Deano to help support the forum, but I decided against it. If you wish to make a donation, it is your choice. I am sure Deano would appreciate any donations that you can make, and a lot of you have done so already. So, the competition will be totally gratis. (Unless, you choose to donate). I supply the smokes and shipping costs.

The competition will run until Sept. 30th. No more entries after that day. The winner will be announced shortly after. Only one entry per person. No duplicate number may be chosen. If someone has that number already, you must choose a different one. If there is a tie, the prize will be split. I hope I covered everything. Have fun!!!!!

is a royal pain in the ASS!!!!! No pun intended.

Yesterday, I went to the post office to get a new international priority mail box in order to ship HabanoSy's prize out. I asked one of the employee's about the new flat rate box that the post office has now.

I told the chap that it would be under 4 pounds and his response was "if it fits, it ships for $14." The postal employees stick to their slogans pretty well. I said great and he gave me the box.

I went home and meticulously packed HabanoSy's prize. I was excited to get this out to him and was equally excited that it will only be $14 to ship priority mail.

Today, I went to the post office to ship out the goods. I had to fill out the usual customs slip. The lady rang it up and said "that will be $55." WTF!!!!!!!!!

"What happen to the flat rate," I asked. She said that this box is only for heavy items, and if I put it in a regular box sending it 1st class, it will be less. I am thinking "your fecking kidding me right." What happened to the "if it fits, it ships for $14." So, she gave me some ratty old box that they had and I proceeded home to repackage the goods, again.

I went back after repackaging everything and had to fill out a different customs slip, because the one I had was only for the priority mail box. This time the price was only $18. Much better.

To make a long story short, (maybe a little late for that), HabanoSy's prize is on the way, but will take a wee bit longer (6-10 business days, I was told), and the First Ever Jdawg Competition will probably be the last ever Jdawg competition.

I hope you enjoy the smokes, HabanoSy.
