Cigars in Cambridge

I'm new to cigars and I'm looking to start off with some good ones, start as you mean to go on :biggrin1:

There used to be a shop in Cambridge, but unfortunately it closed before I got to buy anything there: http://www.cigar-connoisseur.co.uk/

I was wondering if anyone knows of a place that sells good cigars in Cambridge?

It seems unlikely there wouldn't be somewhere selling them in Cambridge, but I can't say I've noticed anywhere, I'm hoping there is somewhere hidden away.

Sadly Tranters has closed as you are aware and we had a thread noting its demise here in April-ish http://www.ukcigarforums.com/showthread.php?t=1902&highlight=cambridge

It seems there is no dedicated outlet for cigars in the area, but wine merchants apparently carry a limited stock. Reading through the thread, the link you have posted up is still valid for a shop in Oxford, so you could order online (which is not quite the same tactile experience ay?)

If there arent any stores locally and you dont want to stump up paying UK prices I'd check out one of the online retailers and purchase a sampler pack. Some of them allow you to purchase singles in a customised sample pack (CigarOne, TopCubans).

I think the Robusto size/ vitola is quite a good place to start so you might want to consider something like this? http://www.cigarone.com/cuban-cigars/kit.php?idkit=10&currency=GBP

Not bad value 10 cigars @ £9 each average.. would enable you to try a wide range of smokes and might give you an idea of the brands to try further.
