Not in for this personally, but I've read CGars are auctioning off pre-embargo, aged and rare Cubans at Boisdale's on December 1st.
I read it here (http://www.cigaraficionado.com/Cigar/CA_Features/CA_Feature_Basic_Template/0,2344,2923,00.html)
Might be interesting for those of you that purchase the harder-to-find cigars.

If I can find out how to get an invite I will come. I am a Boisdale member but they did not have many details when I called. Think you need to know "somebody".

I think you may be confused as the nature of an auction is that it is a "public auction" so no invite is needed
We have simply asked people that intent to attend to advise us so we can ensure we have sufficient seating, refreshments etc
An invite is needed for the after auction dinner however
The first 100 Lots are now online,we think there will likely be another 30-60 to be added.
Some of the reserves are exceptionally reasonable so many will no doubt bag a bargain as I did at Christies oiver many years

Hi Guys
I am not the owner of C.Gars Ltd. I am a director and head of the sales team. My department deals with vintage aged and rare Havanas.
The cigars in the auction are not all owned by C.Gars Ltd! As with all auctions ( I am aware of) anyone is welcome to enter a lot for auction.
The auction Lots are owned by a variety of of collectors/connoisseurs
The stimates ( and reserves in many cases) are very reasonable and some astute bidders will no doubt bag some bargains:smoke:

Hi Mitch, some very reasonable estimates there, and I'm very tempted.
A questions though. In the T&C's both buyers and sellers pay VAT if applicable, how does that work? How can you tell if VAT is applicable to a particular lot, would it be mentioned in the on-line catalogue?
smokeymo

VAT is included in all Lots if delivery is to a destination in the EU. If not the sales is zero rated
Most of the Lots are sold by private sellers so VAT is not applicable
VAT is payable on buyers and sellers premiums at 15% unless the client is outside the EU
Hope that helps
Best
SmokeyMo
