Hi Everyone
Just got a box of these from the domincan republic (I think???), and wonder what I should do with them, options I have, and questions:
1. Store them, what do you I need? and how much would it cost?
2. Smoke them, but I have never liked cigars, so if I dont like $5 cigars, whats the chances of me liking these? is there much difference in the taste/smell? :smoke:
3. Sell them, what are they worth? :849:
Thanks
Ricky

1. All over the forum. Check for tupper ware containers.
2. You might like them, try one.
3. Check an established cigar web site for UK prices, e.g. www.cgrsltd.co.uk (http://www.cgrsltd.co.uk)

Will do

well I dont want to open the box if I am going to sell them, I am sure the buyer would prefer a sealed box
3. Check an established cigar web site for UK prices, e.g. www.cgrsltd.co.uk (http://www.cgrsltd.co.uk)
From what I can see they are about 329 quid a box, so if I sold them would 250ish be a fair price

Not on here:smoke:
Edit: sorry mate that doesn't give you much of an idea does it?
There's a clue in Deano's reply... It would have to be better than that I'd say.
Have we turned into Ebay since I woke up this morning? I know we do raffles and the like to raise funds for our community, but WTF?

guys you really dont know how to make a person feel welcome!!!!
I have come along with some genuine questions, and everyone thinks I am just here to rip you off, not everyone is a scammer!!!
I can see why everyone is sceptical from the top thread in the for sale section currently, but come on
everyone just seems to be going on about the selling, but no one is answering my other answers about keeping them fresh, or spliting the pack to help me make my decision,
yeah I am thinking about possibly selling aswell, but thats down to me, and I made that perfectly clear from the start, so whats the big problem????

This is the most welcoming and generous forum you will ever come across. We are no fools either, many of us have been in this hobby for over a decade. Of course people are going to be skeptical, when your first posts talk about a box of cigars that you may want to sell.
Had you properly introduced yourself, contributed to the forum for some time, gained the trust of us, and made some friends first before talking about selling, then you would not have had such a difficult time with people questioning your intentions.
In the past, people have signed up just to sell and never return. We are a tight group and protect each other. It is possible that you have good intentions here, but you just went about it the wrong way, mate.
To answer some of your questions, it will not neccesarily devalue the box of cigars by opening them and smoking one. It will still be possible to sell them individually or in packs (just maybe not here). A good solution to store them would be to create a tupperdor. It is just a tupperware container where you add some type of humidifier to prevent the drying out of the cigars.
I hope you stick around and become a contributing member of the forum. You can learn a lot here, if you want to.

Hi pal - the problem is that the forum often gets used as eBay for holiday-makers fresh back from Cuba and it does kind of annoy the regular members to see the place being treated like that.
We're honestly a friendly bunch (apart from TJ) so please hang around and join in the debates/banter etc
We're a very protective bunch but welcome ALL newcomers...just don't mistreat the place is all I'm saying
Have you smoked one yet? Any good?
best wishes
Steve

The community is just wary of those who appear to just sign up so that they can sell cigars- it's not what we are about.... And i'm not saying that that's you- but it probably wasn't the best idea to mention sale in one of your first post- people get antsy.
With regards to your question regarding seals- all cigars sold in the UK by any reputable specialist will have been opened by hunters and frankau for quality checking. So IMO I don't think that the seals being broken would devalue it terribly. However I couldn't comment about having one missing from the box.
Don't just take my word for it on that though. See what others say.

Okay, if you blokes are done giving the dawg a tongue bath, I'd like to suggest just a few teensy weensy changes before we adopt this as our "standard response," if you will.

This is the best fucking forum on the whole bloody internet. We didn't just fall off the turnip truck (lorry). So when some goober shows up without paying his dues trying to foist off some dogrockets, we tend not to smile and bend over.

Friends don't sell friends frauds. Are you a friend, friend? If so... show it first, then maybe we can talk shop.

to be honest guys, if I dont smoke them and sell them, I doubt I will be on this forum much, I mean cigars arent really my thing, have a quick google on my username and you will find out very quickly I am all about cars, cars and more cars, lol, ask me anything you want about cars and I am sure I will have something to say,
but given the kind of reaction I have had from this forum I do not think I would be welcome to sell them here, now these are 110% genuine, I can provide pictures of the boxes, it comes with a bag from the factory, I even have pictures of them being made (although I can't distrubute those, but happy to show any buyer on collection),
given that selling them here is not going to get a warm reception, can anyone suggest somewhere I could possibly sell these?

Depending on where you are in the world, Hello London might be a good place, and like Dave says, Gumtree. You'll often find folk selling on these two places.

Thanks for your help guys, put this up on both websites, please pm me if anyone would like a link to the items,
actually quite suprised how many cigar adverts there where on the sites,
guys, if you post ur cigars, how do you verify the age of the buyer? currently I am asking for collection only, but is there a way to post and make sure the buyer is old enough?
I doubt many young people have access to that kind of money, but would rather not risk it
