I've got a friend who is off to the US in a couple of weeks and I still have about $100 from my work trip out there last year which I never transferred back to £'s.

My m8 is happy to pick me up some smokes while he is out there, So my question is what would you guys recommend in him bringing back with me for that sort of wonga?

I'm still a newbie to the world of ceegars but am partial to a partagas, but infd the madura a little too intensive for my taste at the moment.

Oliva make some very good cigars that can be had for under $100 a box. I would also recommed the Padron x000 series.

Tatuaje and Illusione make some fantastic cigars, IMHO, but alittle bit more than $100 a box

I don't think you can go wrong with a box of Fuente 858...:biggrin1:

I had the same question. I have a friend coming from California next week.

Jeanne at Fox's suggested "My Father's Cigar by Don Pepin" because it's one of the NC that you can't get in the UK.

Has anyone tried it? Opinions?

:nerd: Respectfully, I don't care much for Perdomos. :puke:

:41:I agree, however, with senor  CIV - The A. Fuente 858 is a solid stick at good price! And they come in natural, maduro, and claro and a very cool box! :thumb:

:41: My big bro, :bandit: TJ, TJ Coro (may he rest in peace) used to keep a box of each in his ever shrinking N/C section of his massive unit (humidor for the :willy: knewbees).

:41:You might also consider the Casa Magna, which was CA Stogie of the year in 2008! Not a favorite of mine, actually, but many here seem to like it. :dontknow:

I would have to agree with the Tatuaje and Illusione recommendation!

I would have tour buddy pick up a few of each from the line. Very popular right now here in the states.

Hope you enjoy whatever you get!

The "My Father" is a great smoke! I've only had the No. 4 but it is all it's cracked up to be an more. I tend to smoke stronger sticks and this one is on the stronger side (maybe a strong medium approaching full) but smooth, smooth, smooth. Complex flavors that mingle in and out with some pepper that that is a bit persistent but not overwhelming. Get a 5er, then you will be buying a box!

Moaning - Are you looking for a flat out box purchase or a sampler? I concur with the Perdomo Lot 23 being an excellent choice for a box. One of my go to smokes.

I would also suggest:

Hoyo de Monterrey: Dark Sumatra, Excalibur Dark Knight
Partagas: Black,Series S, Spanish Rosado
Carlos Torano Exodus 1959
Rocky Patel The Edge Maduro (bit on the stronger side)

Ah, Perdomo Reserve series...What color band? I do like them, the Cameroon (silver) and Oscuro (red) being my favourite.

The 10th Anny Criollo are nice too. Actually they all have their place and are well blended smokes. Like the Champagnes on the weekend in the am with some coffee. :smoke: Hard to go wrong there!
