The full catalogue for the C.gars auction at Boisdale is now up on the web. Looks like some nice stuff.

I've put a link on my Blog (http://nicwingsblog.blogspot.com/2009/11/auction-of-cuban-cigars-in-london.html) (or the Mexican can google c.gars auction)

Anyone going?

Wonder if they'll reveal/post the final bids on their website, would be interested to see what some of those lot's went for.

I think at one 'big' member of our forum (I mean he has big in his name not that he has a big member you understand) was planning to go so we might ask if he will pop a note on his catalogue as the hammer drops.

If they do, buggsy I'm you new best friend :biggrin1:. Will be interested to see what the box of Cohiba Lancero go for, think the pre-auction estimate was £200-£300 if I remember correctly, which for an aged box somewhat, I thought was a reasonable price, although suppose that may only be the starting price.

Apologies for intruding, newbie here!

Most auction houses deliberately under estimate the likely value, sometimes quite dramatically, to help bolster interest. There is no guideline but chances are good that the hammer price, if the auction goes as the auctioneers might hope, will likely be at least twice the low estimate, possibly twice the high.

Smoking is allowed on the Terrace where the auction is being held

Please ensure you have registered if you wish to attend as we have to tell the venue correct numbers of attendees

Estimates are set by sellers, usually ( not always) the lower end of the estimate is close to the reserve.

No doubt some bargains may well be had on the night
