Hello, all - I am fairly new to cigar smoking (a mere three years) but really like the less fiery end of the Cuban spectrum - Montecristo, Diplomaticos, Rafael Gonzales, and - for something a bit stronger - Bolivars. I tend to smoke only occasionally, a couple of times a month, but would be happy to meet others for a shared smoking experience! I am in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.

A warm welcome to UKCF Geoff. I'm in the Midlands and therefore don't know the difference between my Barnet and Arsenal, nevermind Welwyn wherever. Have fun:smile:

Welp, the first order of business (aside from a warm welcome from over here <---- on this side of the pond) is to fix this "occasionally, a couple of times a month" problem. Seriously, Geoff, there is no chagrin in being so poor that you can only afford to fire up a stogie so infrequently. Times are tough. We all understand. In fact, I myselves would be honored to send you a few select see-gars for your smoking enjoyment. I'm sure many here would also do the same. Then you could have the pleasure of being a decent, ghawds-fearing, bona fide see-gar smoker and consign vitolas to the flame more often.

Chickens? Hmmmm...? You wouldn't, by any chance, have any llamas would you? I'm just asking for a friend, mind you.

A local herf sounds good. I would be happy to host it myself, but the weather must be OK as it would have to be out in the garden (nuff said)....

Hi Geoff

Sorry that I'm a little late in stopping by to say 'hello', but I just wanted to add, that there aren't enough of us cigar smoking opera fans around on the boards.

Perhaps in the summer months we could combine a herf with a recital? I would be happy to design the stage and costumes (assuming that the chickens would be happy to play there part as extras during the crowd scenes). I'm a big (cosi style) fan of Verdi and Puccini, but think Carmen is the one to do. After all, it's set in a cigar factory, and afterwards, we can smoke the props!

Anyhow, welcome to the forum and enjoy. :cowboyic9:
ps. Anyone know where we can find a 'fat lady'?
