Hi all,

I thought i remembered seeing a thread about a Christmas herf.. anyone up for meeting somewhere in London, perhaps Boisdale, over the next few weeks?

Lascaux

most certainly, dunno how boisdale would work, wether we'd have to eat there?

Would love to, depending on the day and the time!

Might I modestly suggest Friday the 11th, the evening thereof? It is not so close to Christmas that everything will be pandemonium in town, hopefully most members of the forum will not be tied up with family stuff already.

I could have a word at the Boisdale to see if they could handle a larger number on the smoking patio for the event, we wont have to eat.

I think you could be pushing it to hold it closer to Christmas but the date I mention is not far off, so if I might suggest some alacrity in firming this up.

I agree with T! I wouldn't be too keen on popping along to one if it was any later. Thought that doesn't mean that I wouldn't.

11th is great for me. Lets do it.

Robusto

There's a fast train now from Folkestone at certain times of the day that whisks you to London St Pancras on the Channel Tunnel line in less than an hour.

You have to pay £9 extra, apparently, for the fast service.

A day return during the week comes to almost £50 from my town. A London herf from my town isn't worth it with this outlay.

Those of you who live in or close to London - Have great fun! :cowboyic9:

Deano
03-12-2009, 12:43 PM
Yeh it gets stupidly expensive from mine too, fortunately I'll have a season ticket as of next week.

11th is good for me too, Boisdale is just down the road from work too :biggrin1: Any time after 17:30 is good...

So, not wanting to hurry people but we need to make a plan and firm things up, maybe even number wise if I am to speak with the Boisdale.

Big_T_UK
04-12-2009, 01:04 PM
I feel rotten about the guys who cannot make this date, like CohibaIV and Robusto, so what should I do? No date is going to fit everybody. I need a consensus. Am I going to try and book a table for about ten (by the sounds of it) for the 11th or we going to try something else.

I very much want to not rub anybody up the wrong way on this one. Is there a date everybody can make that is not too close to Xmas?

T.

Lascaux
04-12-2009, 01:12 PM
thursday 10th i could do, saturday 12th, or saturday 19th are the other days i can make

big_Bear
04-12-2009, 02:38 PM
Well I'm alright for dates aproaching Xmas. I'm one of the lucky few that live in central(ish) London. But if moving the herf to another date means more can come then I'm all for it. Though T I strongly agree with one of your previous posts - It will be mayhem the closer it is towards Xmas.

Hey T, don't move the date because of me. If the Friday suits most people (as it sounds it does) then stick to that bud. There will be other times to meet. I can only do Thursdays as thats the only night I don't have to go back up north for the kids.

I believe Elton and David have rings on their fingers designed by Tracey Emin which spell out the word C*NT. Also Elton has that word on a wallhanging on his kitchen wall in Holland Park. It's the irony zzzzzz of being mega-rich yet flashing a cuss word.

Say what you want. I'm not bothered. I liked Tumbleweed Connection in 1971. I never liked him dressed as Mussolini.

I have sat in his chair in his management offices. I like to mention that every two months in public.

Elton will know the truth about David Beckham's EVIL CIGAR HABIT.

Big_T_UK

David Beckham is a tail-gunner?

Big_T_UK

Roll-up one and all!

Come on "chaps", we can get more of us together can't we? Nic? Anybody? Pretty please? LOL. Look, this is me trying to do "nice" and making an effort. Yes it feels un-natural and wrong, crawling flesh even but it is Xmas, good will to all men and all that bleeding heart nonsense. At least on a London herf you can blow expensive smoke at hypothermic homeless people, it warms the cockles of the heart, well does for me anyway.

Wait, I am not helping my argument here am I? Well I am sat in Starbucks as they open on a Sunday morning after a very colourful Saturday night. The gods own worst Xmas music is playing on a loop and it is turning my stomach. This is the sort of thing that drives people to kill co-workers so I am allowed to be grumpy. ;)

Seriously, more takers for this Fridays smoke please? I will be calling the Boisdale tomorrow to book table/s.

Just to let you all know that I did speak with Zoe. We have a table from 6.30 at the Boisdale of Belgravia. It is for eight but we can grab more chairs as we need them, with luck. They only open at 6.30 so if you are going to be earlier may I suggest you join me at TomTom coffee around the corner for a BLOODY GOOD espresso, Lascaux you hear me? LOL.

Also I want to pick up a couple of sticks I have never had before and may do that at TomTom cigars. Both TomToms are spitting distance from the Boisdale.

P.S. Sorry for the delay in this post, I have been away for a couple of nights at short notice. :dancing:
