WRAPPER: Nicaraguan Habano (aged since 1997)
BINDER: ????
FILLER: Dom. Piloto Cubano (aged since 1997), Mexico Ligero (aged since 1997), and Nicaraguan Criollo (aged since 1998)

This cigar was very enjoyable, with a mild to medium body. Since many people on this forum are fans of Alec Bradley Tempus and Maxx lines I thought I would give a brief review of the Harvest Selection 1997 - one of the lesser known lines in the Alec Bradley portfolio.

I'll keep it brief:

APPEARANCE - 5 out of 5. This cigar is thick and is very pleasing to the eye and pleasing to the touch. The wrapper is velvety and a healthy shade of golden brown.

AROMA - 4 out of 5. This cigar gives off a scent that is not overpowering and is light and unobtrusive.

BURN - 17 out of 20. The burn is pretty even the whole way through, with slight angles forming for brief amounts of time that quickly adjust themselves. At a couple of points the filler almost began to burn quicker than the wrapper, which hurt the score, but thankfully the cigar readjusted before it ever became a problem.

TASTE: 63 out of 70 This cigar is a mild to medium bodied cigar that shows a bit of leather and Bordeaux wine. The draw was slightly firm, which made the length of the smoking experience last for quite a while. The finish was overpowered with charcoal and stayed on the palate for a good few minutes. I enjoyed this cigar with Long Trail Harvest Ale and they complemented each other tremendously. I would recommend this cigar to those of you who enjoy a milder cigar. :cowboyic9:

That's a pretty nice review Larry, I'll definitely adopt the rating/scoring system that you guys are using, as it seems to give a more detailed review of a cigar, whilst still keeping it simple :)

I have never heard that about Alec Bradleys being seconds off Davidoff. That's really interesting. I'm going to look around a bit to find that out.
