12 YO.

Been through a few of these in the latter part of this year really like it.

Anyone else gargled a drop or two?

Not yet, though it's a reasonable price by the looks of things so might be tempted at some point.

Any more positive comments or reviews for the Glenlivet 12YO then... Should I buy? If so, why?

I'm no whisky expert Si, but I find it a light, clean drop with a fresh finish if that makes sense? I'm crap at the particular nuances of flavour profiles, otherwise I'd write more cigar reviews on here. Sorry I'm not much help there. Perhaps one of the guys can help me out with with a description. I could blag something off the side of the bottle, but that wouldn't be fair:frown: It says there, 'vanilla' which I can subtley pick out on the finish.

That's a bit like me saying I like VW Golfs, and you saying you like Fords. Which one and why, as I'm curious about any comparisons:smile:

(I'd hazard a guess, the equivalent (12yo))... ;)

Thanks for the extra info cj. No worries about the nuances of the taste (I can just about get my head around smokey and peaty... :tongue:).

Yeah I had a bottle a few months back. I must admit I didn't find it particularly exciting, though I'll agree with your sentiments on it not being too heavy.

I would liken it to the JL PC in cigar terms.

You can drink it any time of the day.:eek:

You can drink anything at anytime of day! :849:

It's just not entirely advisable... :der:

So if you take six years off the 18YO, which was excellent, you're left with a nice drop:biggrin1:

:confused::rolleyes::der::smile:

Livet is too perfumy to the tastes and smell. I think they use rose water.

Fiddich is not therefore i would go with fiddich...

in that price range.. roughly $25-$30... i would go with a grouse-12... even though its a blended

I prefer Fiddich Solera Reserve though my everyday scotch is Johnnie Walker Black.
