Good morning,
just a general question. I have problems on this site when I click on a thread, or try to start/respond to a thread, my pages freezes. Is this due to the fact that I have Flintstone-speed dial-up internet, or something more technical.
Thanks alot.

sometimes the forum faces problems... maybe it's just that...
does it happen all the times or just from time to time?

hi Saggel,
it happens quite often. I need to close the page and come back. It can be a bit frustrating. I have only dial-up providers in my area, with maybe the option of high-speed satellite internet, but I'd rather use that extra money for cigars.

Not really sure what's happening? The site does crawl to a halt every now and then, but not that often that you should see it occurring all the time.

You using Internet Explorer? Try www.getfirefox.com

If you're actually using old skool dial-up, I'm not surprised you see problems here and there.

and also it would be useful to know whether you face similar problems while surfing other forums...

I think you're Deano,
this prehistoric internet is a real ball-buster at times. Chances are this is probably the main cause of these problems, bummer..Internet budget vs. cigar budget.
And Saggel, this isn't the only site.
Anyways, thanks for the firefox suggestion, I'll try to download it if it doesn't take 4 hours.
Thanks alot guys and have a good day.

Problem seems solved... it's your connection :)
Try to get the best out of it by using firefox as Deano suggested!

Are things better now?

tried several times to download the program, but with dial-up, it projects a 60 minute download, tried once and lost the connection after 45 minutes. F*@k that shit, I'll probably take my laptop to where there is free Wi-fi and try to download there.

This problem actually happens to me also very often with UKforum, whereas it's mostly OK with other websites. Will try to use only firefox and see if it's better (so far use indiscrimately IE and firefox)

Yeah I'll need to move host again I reckon.

Not allowed to use Firefox on PCs at work. Have to use IE.

Accessing UKCF pages is abysmally slow at times at work. At least it was at the start of last week...

I've never known the forum be so slow to come up, mate.

Yeh fair enough Robusto, will need to upgrade to something better. Donations will cover it for now.

Saggel - thanks very much but I need a dedicated server and professional hosting solution from a big company, or we'd be in trouble!
