I stumbled upon one of these Dupont Ligne D lighters the other day in a sale. It's the smaller version of the 'classic' Dupont and it's going for what seems like a steal. I could get it for £130 and these things normally retail double that!

Two snags though:
I'm not entirely happy with the colour - its orange. I could condier it funky and 'ok' i suppose. Maybe a little feminine.
It seems a little too small for cigards. Perhaps as a cigarette lighter or for cigarillos. Not sure.
Does anyone else have one of these Ligne D's and can tell their opinion if it?
One could always buy it and then pop it on eBay or here if I don't like it I suppose. It just seems like such a good price for a Dupont.

Dunno CJ .... that colour is a bit 'iffy' if you ask me. Given the problem I think I'd rather spend the dosh on 25 Cohiba Exquisitos and worry about how to light 'em later!

I wouldn't pay that much for a lighter, but... that's just me...!!!

True, I do like the look of the mini Jet ones - compact and the blue flame.
I'll save my money for a proper Dupont some day I think and not this small, not so great looking one.
It's just that bargain price that coaxes the Scottish in me to go for the deal lol.

It is still, however, £130 for a lighter. :p

I got the new Zippo Blue from cgars.com, nice lighter and works well. A bit thirsty on the butane though.

The D is not ideal for cigars as it has a smaller reservoir than the Linge 1/2/Gatsby, more of a ladies handbag ciggy lighter. Also a bit of a dodgy colour. It is cheap because of the colour.
If you can pop into Dunhill as they usually have one or two designs on sale at similar prices.

edging to that yes, the Maxi is a lot larger than I though it would be though so might opt for the Mini for now.

You're fucking kidding me, cj, right?
You found a fucking lighter for a steal at £130? That's over TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS in real money!
Umm... how shall I put this delicately... ummm... IT'S A FUCKING LIGHTER!
It's going to break. It's going to get scratched and banged up. And eventually you're going to lose the fucking thing. Go out and get yourself a nice Bic (http://www.mysmokingshop.co.uk/index2.php?mod=catviewind&idPrd=3794)for about one of your lb. Stirling Mosses. Guess what? It makes fire. Fire is good for lighting see-gars. And when you lose it or roll over it with your Hummer, who cares? Plus they come in colo(u)rs that don't make you want to heave.
What is it with you Limeys?

I had lost my previous cheap blue-flame lighter after a drunken escapade. A friend had possession of it as it turned out...but in the end when he tried to give it back I just let him keep it [I'm full of unbound generosity lol!]...it was fairly battered anyway.
