Cigar Aficionado have the Montecristo Open Regata as the cigar of the week (91 points...."... a gutsy smoke...")!

Discuss! lol

I've not heard anything good about these and so I haven't even thought about them... is that just the folk I'm chatting to. Am I missing a trick?

I have smoked one, it was extremely ordinary but very very young. Maybe they improve with age.

Back handers? Advertising revenue (maybe not as a Cuban product)? American palettes?

Fair enough... two very respectable opinions there... case closed!....

CA being PC I think Drew...!?!

'A gutsy smoke' - nonsense, IMO...

Don't waste your hard earned, again just MHO of course...

Cheers, HabanoSy

The open is a very clever cigar T.

There are a number of sizes and names, some Cuban for the English market and some non Cuban for the American market.

Even the branding made me think it was an occasional cigar for a golfer!

Hardly the face of rock and roll!

Mind you I'm sitting here with a Punch punch which is lovely but not the ballsiest of cigars.

I've never had a montechristo before so a nice question is whether this one could be a great introduction to them...!!!

For my money Saggel I really like the No2 (always have a box in the humi), like the petit edmundo and the edmundo is ok (although i think the draw is often a little loose on the edmundo)... I think the No 4 is an "introduction" cigar for people who have never smoked, or want something a bit better than a Hamlet for their dads. Its not a bad cigar, just not that interesting, but I reckon you'd enjoy a petit edmundo as an intro. The other guys will have other (and probably better) ideas I'm sure.
