Try this again...

This box arrived a couple of weeks ago. I did post a picture of the box back then but I only just bit the bullet and opened the sealed pack they arrived in to inspect the contents.

When the air rushed into the pack as I cut it open I could tell they have a light aroma but that it is sweet and yummy. I may try one Monday evening but knowing me I will never bring myself to "break into" the complete box. They really need no more ageing though.

How long does something like that take to smoke? I would hate to have a tight draw on one of those babies.

How long are they? The small band makes them look huge

Bloody hell. Am interested to know how they smoke too. Are Sancho Panza's a cheaper line or am I confused?

Look at it this way. If you smoke a couple cigars, you still have 8 left. Go for it and let us know how they smoke.

Not a cheaper line certainly. They do not go for high prices like Cohiba or Tinidad, closer to Montecristo price as a guess. This cigar is the same format as the Monty "A". Sancho Panzas is light to medium but flavourful. I enjoy them on occasion but only the Sanchos is enough of an event smoke for me to hunt down this brand. They are a smaller production niche brand, so less commonly found.

Some of you must have had a Monty "A" or stumbled upon the rare as rocking horse shit Cohiba "A" both worth a try I assure you.

I only broke down and grabbed a box as I have heard this ceased production in 2006 but I am not sure that is true, hedged my bets.

I smoked one at a gathering at 10 Manchester street on Monday. Exactly as expected, light-medium and enjoyable. I am crap at writing reviews. The construction is stunning and burn very consistent. When you light this format of cigar you get a slight twinge of "this is silly" but once you have a good bit of ash on the end you feel right at home. Being a slightly thinner cigar (well it is 47) compared to its length it forces you to smoke it slow and steady. If you rush this cigar you just destroy it as it has to burn slowly to get the best. Three hours easy.

Reluctant to start the box. I had a single that I smoked from years back that was annoying to get in the humi. If I open the box Monkey66 has dibs on the first one, LOL.
