Just realized I had not done this, sorry.

Hey all, been smoking cigars for a long while, love the full-bodied stuff. Was active on boards many years ago but got busy (job, wife, kids - the usual).

I'm an archaeologist, work in Central Mexico, in the field most summers. Although, it's getting a bit scary these days. Stumbled on a meth lab this summer - "just walk away slowly and smile".

Discovered this summer that the Te Amo Cuban blend is OK in a pinch (students 'cashed my stash'). Fav. cigar - Padron Anni, what I smoke most often, El Original (am the only one still smoking these?), the classic smoke, Lusitania, want to try, Mexican regional CC's (hard to find even in Mexico City).

Anyway, hello

Chris

Hi Chris, welcome to the forums, look forward to your contributions. I imagine that being an archaeologist would be quite an interesting job.

You're right about Mexico, going by the daily news the place sounds well dodgy at the minute.

Anyway, welcome again .

Welcome to the forum digger. The lady wife was an archaeologist at Uni and loves it. I am sitting here with Time Team on as I type.

Nice of you to join us.

Any chance of you getting our Robusto carbon dated? :41:

Welcome Chris,

Keep an eye out for TJ when your digging around the desert, you might be amazed the relics you'll find out there.

Hey guys, thanks!!

Who's TJ??

I love this forum cause I get info on the forbidden fruit - so to speak. I wish the 'where to buy' section was still up but totally understand why it's not.

I have come to believe that a Lusitania with a little age is practically the perfect smoke.

I've talked to Bob I think via the phone (owner, but it might be Bill)?? You can also get them from Santiago Cabana in Miami - his nephew set up an e commerce site for him. But . . . I've been dealing with the Island Smoke shop for so long now.

If you can let them rest for a year they get so much better. I've really been getting into the Claro Lanceros. Usually take a box or so with me over the summer. Damn grad. students got into my stash last year and ran out. The big boy - Presidente - makes the drive so much shorter (LOL). I can get down there in two 18 hour days if the border stuff goes well and there is no construction. Hard to get good cigars on a regular basis where we are - unless someone has to go into the big city. And it's dicey taking those other cigars back and forth across the border (wink, wink).

Last summer the Presidente's got a couple of my students pretty ill - so strong - they were dubbed the herf-a-pukes. It might have been from tequila (LOL).

Well . . . if you don't smoke them right away they will only get better:cowboyic9:

Have you had many of the natural wrapper - I usually just go claro or maduro?
