Hi Giulio

Customs is a abit on the dicey side in the last couple of months, a couple of friends i know have had there cigars pulled by customs.
But its hit & miss really.
A good cigar USA retailer is Cigars-international.

Yeah, customs can cause problems but a smaller order should be OK.
Bigger parcels more likely to draw attention.

I've just smoked one of those Giants today, took me almost 4 hrs to destroy it.

Here it is:

Luckily I had only 2 of those and one of my mates got the other one, but you shouldn't worry they are a nice smoke.

Been looking for a website/link about the rules for sending cigars from the USA to UK but not having much luck with finding a clear to understand site. :(

Is there for instance an amount you can be under where customs deem it too small to bother with?

Giulio

Sorry larry I am just not happy enough JUST smoking Cubans I want your cigars as well! which reminds me.....

....had my very first Cohiba Esplendidos last night and I can see what all the fuss is about now. It was really impressive towards the end.

I wish to order from the states and I've been recommended either cigarking.com or cigars.com; both ship overseas. Has anyone here used either? I've been told that cigarking's shipping costs can be a bit expensive and Cigars.com have told me that they can ship to me, but I can't order online; but through their Personal Cigar Consultant. They say they will ship my order in a discreet package for me and it will read something like books.

The latter part sounds a bit on the iffy side to me, and so I would give that one a wide berth :)

I haven't ordered from them before, but I do know that www.tophatcigar.com ship to the UK, but it still works out more expensive with shipping costs from alot of the US retailers.

Another thing to remember is that HM Customs (a.k.a. Stogie's Hell) are more likely to haul them in hold onto them and send you 'The Letter', which is usually a very nasty bill for UK Import Duty, Tobacco Duty, VAT and all that other shite that goes along with it, which is not a very nice thing to get in the mail box, which is more hassle and heartache than it's worth.

Your best bet is to order from Monte :top:

I don't know if this is of any help or not, but I thought I'd mention it anyways :)

Anytime buddy :top:

I imagine that quite alot of the good folkes on here will agree with me on this, especially those who have recieved 'The Letter' and/or had the hassle of having to wait for months before eventually getting their box of sticks on previous occasions, which is simply bang out of order

It's better to order through Monte and save yourself alot of time, money and heartache in trying to order from US websites :)

cigar.com is a very professional sight and they have an excellent selection. Not sure about the shipping costs for you though. But as far as quality; top notch.

Yes that's true but they sure have a strange way of doing things (at least in regard to oversea customers. Having given him my address and a list of the cigars that I require, he has now (again via email) asked for my card details!
