Those 'nice people' at JJ Fox have just sent me an email to tell me that there is an event and it happens to coincide with my Birthday so I suspect I shall pop in for a cigar and a small tincture before I head up the road for a meal with my good lady.
The details are as follows:
Fox of St James will be holding an event for Saint Luis Rey Cigars on the 25th of February 2010, between 18:00 and 21:00.
Please make a note of this fantastic event in your diary. Further detail to follow next week.
The Saint Luis Rey marque was created in the 1930’s by British cigar importers Nathaniel Silverstone and Michael de Keyser. The brand name was derived from the San Luis region – a renowned tobacco producing area in the province of Pinar Del Rio in Cuba. From the outset it was decided that Saint Luis Rey cigars should be made to the highest standards, using only the best tobaccos from the Pinar Del Rio and Vuelta Abajo regions to create the fine smooth aromatic and fragrant cigars which are as good today as they were when the brand was first conceived. Saint Luis Rey Cigars come from the same factory as Romeo Y Julieta Cigars, so the favours and taste and quality are on par.

Oooh, I've been in need of an excuse to visit the capital. Thank you for finding it for me!
I may well make the trip for this. Any more details, as and when they are available would be great. :849:

its a casual sort of thing, there'll be discounts across the SLR range and no entry fee or anything. i might be along to this if i can get some time off rehearsing,
definitely reckon if we get a few along then a trip to manchester street will be in order afterwards?

Train tickets are now booked.
A day looking for a new suit down Savile Row and an evening of fine cigars. What could be better?

I may take you up on that one peanutpete. I'll be around with little else to do.
I'll be suit hunting around lunch time then back to my hotel to check in at 1500, so I suspect I'll be able to get to Fox's by about 1600. I'll be in my blazer.

OK - so as a new member help me out! I will be there tomorrow evening - how will I know the UK Cigar Forum members - or is that the point :41:
Should be great!

We'll be smoking cigars... ah, yes, I can see how that's not very helpful...
Well, as it's too cold for my Hawaiin shirt (usual attire for meet 'n greets)... I'll be in my blazer. Ask around if it's not obvious (though I suspect it will be).
Send me an email (as I don't think you've got PM-ing enabled yet) if you want a number to call when you get there to join up with any other UKCFers.

Hi Robert, I will point out the ones that I know but I am going to be meeting some of the guys for the first time (in the flesh) so it could be a challenge.
JJ Fox is rapidly becoming one of the UK Cigar Forum's favourite club houses.

Nice to meet you guys last night. Good turnout from the forum but we have got to get some form of badge/head dress or something to help recognise each other in the throng!
Like the new larger tree house, will post a proper thread on it as I think it will get lost here.
Really sorry we didn't get more chance to chat. I got held up heading into town by a huge crash on the A41 so was 3/4 of an hour late.
Didn't even get a chance to take any pictures although I know JJ had a snapper around so we should see some pictures at some point.
Enjoyed my cigar, lets do it again soon

I agree with nicwing - great fun! I think about 50 - 60 attended including a good representation from the Forum.
I know nicwing and great to meet up with MB55317, simonjgriffithshr, pedro-han and peanut pete.
I think I found all the Forum members but apologies if I missed you.
Looking forward to doing it all over again.

Really enjoyed the evening, smoked my first SLR DC (an 05 which tasted rather good), and was good to meet and chat to the other members. I suggest we all get together again at 10 Manchester sometime?

Got back to Plymouth just over an hour ago. Well worth the long trip - it was an excellent evening (and afternoon... and lunchtime...)
Good to meet a few more members of the forum that I hadn't met before. A few good conversations to while away the day.
Thanks to everyone at JJ Fox for a good event. :849:

Well nicwing managed two photo's (3rd row, pic 2 and 3) - how did you manage that nic?
Pedro Han is top row - middle (on left)
As Simon points out the photo of him and peanutpete did not appear - but I hear it is on its way to some glossy magazine - so just sit back and await a cheque.
MB55317 and myself - not a sign!
The evening was held on all three floors - museum - shop - upstairs lounge so room for all.

It will be one of those high end glossy men's fashion magazines like Viz or Wizzer & Chips!
