Just wondering if anyone has worked out what the best deal is for purchasing cigars involving a trip to a mainland Europe supplier v purchasing in the UK? And considerations such as Euro v Sterling, travel v postage etc.

Any calculators out there?

Cant say about suppliers in europe, but i orften drive to calais to get cigars, not from the hypermarket or the big shopping mall all the brits visit, but into Calais itself where there are literaly lots of tobacconaists, called Cafe Tabak ro Tabak Cafe's... Actually im going on wednesday to get some although ive only about £300 to play with that will get me double what you can get in the UK,,,... Ive also noticed these 'little' tabaks dont have web sites, so its always handy to walk around the town to sniff them out.

Theres a nice tabacconist at 155 Boulevard Leon Gambetta in calais where you can pick up Romeo y julietas, box of 25 No2 at 130 Euros.. when in UK there 220 squids... also 51 Place d'Armes in calais with lots of other cubans, for example 25 Peidra Cazadors 40euros in UK 130 squid.. so the £30 return ferry fee worth the visit,,.. That of course is just an example.. there are literally loads of different NCs and CCs depending on what you find for your money.

Nice thing about Calais or anywhere in France really is that you can get a excellent meal while the Tabac's close for their 2 hour lunch hour. And, as in Japan the prices are set by the Government, which nicely takes all the price-hassles away!
