Hi All

I've seen a few posts here about the DryMistat Humidification tubes and the difficulty in obtaining them in the UK.

I have set up a website where I hope to sell a number of cigar related accessories, beginning with the DryMistat tubes at an affordable price.

Please feel free to visit the site and even if you don't order any, let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Gecko,
Nice website and product. I'll be after some drymist tubes in a while, they do seem to be great product. I'll need some for a coolidor conversion i'm planning on but they also seem perfect for popping into a cigar travel case to keep your cigars at the right humidity when you take them out to events. Every other hydrating device i've seen i would be worried about leaking.

How quick do you think posting would be in the UK? Are you sending first/second class post? When paying by paypal do you want people to select payment for purchase of goods and what other accessories are you planning on selling?

Thanks for your comments. You'd certainly have no worries about leakage with these. Postage will always be first class and I will always do my best to despatch within 24hrs of ordering. With Paypal, either option is fine by me.

As far as other products go, I'm in the very early stages of looking at sourcing travel humidors, Humidor seasoning packs, cutters/punches and ashtrays. It may take a little while to find the right supplier but I want to do it properly so that I can find quality products and be able to sell them at an affordable price. I've seen so many sites in he UK that charge a fortune for the same things, I just dont know how they get away with it.

I'm definately open to suggestions too. If there are Brands/Products that people want to see available through the site, i'll do what I can to source a competitively priced product. That doesn't just include Cigar related products either.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me anytime at enquiries@geckotrading.co.uk

Hi Gecko. Nice site you've got. Hope you manage to source some more quality products soon.
I'm in the market for something along these lines but not sure what to go for yet, tubes, pillows etc. You specify using tap water, is there a reason for this? I ask because my tap water seems to have quite a lot of chlorine in it and I've always used distilled water in the past. Another question is are your tubes similar to the Heartfelt ones, and if not what are the differences.
Sorry for the interrogation but need to be sure I go for the best option.
All the best.

Hi Lionhound, thanks for your post. The tube does not need much water at all, so it really doesnt matter if it's tap or distilled. The guidelines are that the only time you shouldn't use tap water in the tube is if your water is so Hard as to be undrinkable. If it has such a high chlorine content that you wouldn't drinlk it then you may prefer to use distilled water to avoid the risk of any chlorine smell in the Humidor. Normal tap water is absolutely fine for the Drymistat.

In relation to the Heartfelt tubes, I'll be honest, I don't have any personal experience of them. From what I have heard though, they seem a bit more high maintenance than Drymistat. With Drymistat, you literally take the cap off, fill to the 'Fill Line' with water, replace cap, wait 5 mins and put in the Humidor. When the crystals shrink back below the 'Refill' line, you simply refill with water. I understand the Heartfelt tubes can be a little unclear about how much water to put in and you need to rely on watching for your humidity to drop to know when to refill it.

The manufacturers site has a detailed Q&A section that you may find useful. http://www.drymistat.com/techn.html

I totally understand wanting to make the right product choice. All I can really tell you is that Drymistat has always done the job for me and is as user friendly as you could possibly get.

Hope this helps

I have got a few sticks of this from the US.

In my tupperdor, it keeps bang on 69-72RH at 64-66F

As good it is as a product, I am trying to figure out how to lower the RH a bit since i want to try a lower RH.

Hey,

Welcome, good luck with this venture.

....

Please feel free to visit the site and even if you don't order any, let me know what you think......
Thanks!

I'd run a quick spelling / grammar / typo check on the site content.

Good luck bringing those prices down.
