Have there been any decent albums released after a musician croaks it, the only one I have so far is Queen - Made in Heaven?

Life after Death by Chris Wallace aka Notorious B.I.G released 2 weeks after his murder in 1997.

I really liked sketches for my sweetheart the drunk, unfinished album of jeff Buckley, if pete croaks it (god forbid) he's got hundreds of acoustic recordings that are fucking beautiful, so that album could be great. The bootlegs of first rays of new rising sun the Hendrix album (think that's the name) are incredibly roughand sketchy but have some real beauty in them.

Nice choice Lasc, Le Buckley's is a great album and one I go back to time and again.

Really wish I had seen him live, must have been really something!

I really should listen to Sketches...I have listened to Grace so many times and love it so much I own two copies of it!

Not quite after death, but Pink Moon by Nick Drake was recorded very soon before he died/committed suicide and its an album well worth checking out.

I always think of Nick Drake as the voice of an era!

Many many Nick Drake fans here. I know Deano is a big fan too.

Not Music necessarily but to expand this thread a little, my kids and my wife were watching the Michael Jackson 'This is it' DVD last week and my wife came away hugely angry at the publicity that surrounded his death (she put this in stronger terms), she saw his energy, his huge huge talent and a man greatly misunderstood by the media.

Closer by Joy Division was released 2 months after singer & songwriter Ian Curtis hung himself. Not everyone's cup of tea, but an undeniably powerful & moving piece of work.

The album had been due to be released before IC killed himself & the title was meant to indicate proximity rather than finality, although it proved to be the last album JD recorded.
