Here's my comparison based comparing a fake Cohiba Robusto to a real one.
As the years go on it appears to be getting harder to distinguish between them.
Pic 1: Top is fake.
Pic 2: Right is fake.
Pic 3: Right is fake.
First off the gauge of the fake is somewhat larger than a real Robusto - you can see this in all three pictures.
The actual formation of the fake is quite good, no large veins apparent at the base, nor when smoked, and it appears to have a triple cap.
The label, however good it is, gives a few things away.
The cut on the fake is bad - you can see some white dots appearing at the top from the poor cut - you wouldn't see this on a real Cohiba.
Secondly on close inspection 'Habana, Cuba' looks slightly less bolded, but not by much.
The third point is the Cohiba logo - its very slightly bigger than the real and although its embossed and the right colour, the edges are very slightly 'frayed'.
The major giveaway concerning the label, is in pic 3 - the wrap around sticking point of the label hasn't been carefully adhered.

Well spotted Deano
I Have also found that the gold lettering on fakes is always dodgy and badly printed.
Hope the fake was'nt one of you new batch mate!!!:o

Try & make sure you buy from a repatable dealer to avoid getting any fakes in the first place.
Its all so well & good trying to get cheap smokes but 99.9% of the time it dosent work out chaps.
Best to pay a few quid more & getting the real deal;)

Far from endorsing fake cigars as I would never intentionally buy them, but I have had fake Robustos in the past and due to having nothing else at the time smoked them…
They were not all that bad but did’nt touch the real deal.

My mate has just come back from Cuba and very kindly gave me these Cohiba Robusto's.......:(
When I told him they were fakes, he asked how I would know so????
Check out the picture's and see for yourself.....!
One is missing as to be polite, I lit one whilst he was here.
Taste was not tooooo bad, and burnt well and even.
Proberly save them for a party and palm them off to others who won't know any better (hehehehe):D
