I was reading this article and i suddenly thought, this is roughly where shuckins lives, well the state anyway
http://news.uk.msn.com/world/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=153251975
And as ive not spoken to him in a few days i was wondering if he is ok?? Or come to that matter any other members of this forum who live in the same area.
Hope nobody was affected by this disaster..

Some areas were hit by 13 inches (33 centimetres) of flash flooding on Saturday, and the same on Sunday.
Ohh
makes me think we might be living on island, but hey there are no earthquakes and no such storms!

it was a wild ride,but i survived!
i was stranded in my house surrounded by 3 ft. of water for 2 days! it was kinda like an island.
the power was out for part of the time, but the house stayed dry.
i was able to get out and go to town for supplies this morning.
the sun is shining, the wind has calmed down, and i'm getting ready to do some repairs on the part of my driveway that washed away. i'm gonna have to start over with the garden though.
and just so no one worries,my humidors are safe...lol

great to hear that you have'nt suffered massively. you'll have a nice new garden soon and the drive can be fixed but water logged stogies would have cost thousands.

Glad to hear you've weathered the storm relatlvely unscathed.
The driveway is an easy sorted thing in relative terms but the garden is a different prospect. I really hope its not something you've spent years getting the way you want it as if so you'll be devastated to see all your hard work washed out.
Anyway, best of luck with the repairs.

Good to hear you're well, sounds like a fine excuse to do up the driveway and garden with the insurance that kicks in!

thanks for the well wishes everybody!
the driveway has been repaired with a few well placed railroad ties and some gravel spreading. the garden will be re-tilled and replanted as soon as it dries up. my favorite white chair was rescued from a nearby ditch. things are almost back to what passed for normal around here...lol

Haha good to hear you rescued the smoking chair... :smoke:
Please that you're OK Shucks an' gettin' the garden back into shape. That's some big job unless you're re-planting with matures.
On that chair, I do think you ought to get it a companion or two. It looks kinda lonely on it's own out there an' sorta suggests that any good ol' boys poppin' over for a smoke have to sit on the lawn. :41:

Good luck with the cleanup. After all the snow here, I went to cut the grass only to find that most of the loose chippings from my driveway had ended up in the grass! It's amazing how the weather changes even my own wee micro landscape! Good luck with yours!
