Jimmeh and I hit the motorway early today for an arranged days rifle and carbine shooting but the weather just looked so grim that we elected to hit Teddington instead, turned into an amazing day!

Upon arrival we found Ajay sorting through some random and rare cigars that had accumulated in the upstairs humidor. One huge, dark cigar caught Jimmeh's attention. It was the black label Partagas Diademes from the tenth anniversary dinner of the Partagas shop. It was the only one Ajay had and he thrust it into Jimmeh's hand and said "smoke it", which he did with much relish.

Ajay lit up a cigar he loves, the Partagas Charlotte that was discontinued years ago.

Due to a discussion I had been having with Ajay on Thursday (covered in another thread) he had found one remaining 2008 - Edición Regional China - Armonías for me.

Each of us enjoyed our smokes on the merits of that particular cigar. The Charlotte is a grand little smoke and smelt heavenly. Jimmeh relished in the rich flavours but not overpowering strength of his dark monster. The Bolivar I talked about in the previous thread.

Whilst there I also collected my "birthday smokes". Jimmeh had arranged for Ajay to give me a cigar I have been lusting after for a good while, the black label Partagas Sobresalientes from the Partagas dinner.

To match this Ajay himself gifted me the 2007 - Réplica de Humidor Antiguo - red label Sobresaliente.

Both worship-worthy cigars.

Another friend of mine (a non-cigar smoker) had phoned Ajay and arranged for me to be supplied the ultimate cigar for me, the cigar I have wanted to smoke more than any other, the cigar that kept me awake nights, the holy grail of cigars for me, the 2005 - Colección Habanos Book Series - Maravillas.

The second picture shows the Maravillas next to an Edmundo for an idea of its huge scale.

To say that many of the very highest boxes on my tick list of cigars to try have been ticked off recently would be a huge understatement but more than a few got knocked off just today. I am hugely grateful to all of those involved and as Ajay said, I have some amazing friends. Since Ajay was with us I elected to smoke the red label as my second cigar, just bum numbingly good.

Jimmeh and a couple of the regulars chose to smoke the Punch 2009 - Edición Regional Switzerland - Poderosos, the cigar I was wowed by in my last report on Thursday. They all love it, Jimmeh was in love with it after the first inch or so. This is a cigar of note people.

I am so grateful to everybody on here and in Teddington for making my birthday an apparently never ending and amazing couple of weeks.

To finally have the Monty book cigar in my humi to try is a huge thrill and I am beside myself with excitement to try it. The red label from Ajay was stunning and the black label is supposed to be very different from the red and I shall enjoy it with the company of its gifter, Jimmeh, soon.

MB55317 joined us later in the afternoon to smoke and he enjoyed the BHK54 and I forget what else. See you Wednesday young man.

T.

Wow, you lucky lucky boy! Man!

If you can judge a cigar by its wrapper then those are some mighty fine stogies indeed! The Sobresalientes looks particularly tempting. Amazing wrapper?!

I really have to visit this place in Teddington soon - sounds and looks fab :)

Look forward to meeting you on Wednesday!

Man alive!! Don't tell me Ajay is daft enough to sell you another £120 cigar for £42...he must be insane. Will he sell me some BHK 56s for £10 each??:confused:

You know, Big T, from the stories of your various exploits in La Casa Del Habano, it makes me want to somehow save up vast amounts of money (either US byghods dollars or those funny lbs. Stirling Moss you people use), paddle across the pond, and just go berserk buying up veritable hordes of those luscious looking rare and aged stogies. Your pictures and descriptions literally make my mouth water and leave me feeling very lustful.

One day...

http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/crackhead.gif No need for such extremes, senor :tinfoil3: pointyhead. Just paddle yerself accross the Gulf of Oil (fmr. Gulf of Mexico) and you can purchase all the glass-topped Cohibas your lil' ol' heart desires. :heh:
