Me and the missus are thinking of going to Zurich for a long weekend away, either before the baby is born or after...

So, after spending most of the day looking for places to go in Zurich I found this very interesting site...

Thought I should share with you all....looks like I am in for a very good weekend....

CohibaIV, never been to Zurich, however thought I'd throw this in. If you ever visit Nino's Flying Cigar website you might notice that a good friend of his is a gentleman called Urs Portmann who owns Portmann Cigar which is based in Kreuzlingen which apparently is about an hours drive from Zurich.

The guy seems to have a nice shop and a good stock (has is own cigars in there own jar which look nice - visit Flying Cigar for more details). Anyway, if you and the Mrs fancied a wee day trip I'm sure if you contact Nino through this site he would fully recommend Portmann Cigars - just a thought chum?

CohibaIV, check out this thread from the CigarAficionado forum;

Check out the link for the Zurich duty free. I had a quick look and it was showing 245CHF for a box of Bolivar Royal Coronas which works out at about £150!

Hopefully the possibility of some cheap, well cheaper, smokes?

Gary, thank you for the kind words.

Yes, I absolutely would recommend Portmann Cigars in Kreuzlingen, a trip there is always a pleasure - as I personally experienced once again last weekend, see :

http://www.flyingcigar.de/travel_cigars/2010_05_zeppelin_and_cigars_at_the_lake.php

Some restaurant and Hotel advice (plus side trips to a Zeppelin museum ) is included in the report - enjoy the "Portmann Lake" !
