I'll be heading off to Glasgow with work on Monday 17 May for 2 nights (late flight back on Wednesday) with work to decide the fate of some peoples promotions. I used to live just up the road in Dumbarton and recall a nice little whiskey and tobacconist place near Glasgow town centre that i popped into looking for whiskey as a present many moons ago before i got hooked with cigars. I recall there was a fire and i think it moved, can't remember the name but it was just to the west of the town centre. As i will be reading a few hundred reports during the day i think some cigar browsing might be in order in the evening. Although it will be 2 longs days so i might just get chance to leave work and head directly to the shop so i can't really waste time looking for shops unless they are open late which i doubt.

My googlefu is weak at the moment but i'l hit the nice little whiskey place in the town centre on the ground floor of the shopping centre for sure.

To cut a long story short if anyone knows of any good cigar or whiskey shops around Glasgow town centre I'm all ears. I won't have a hire car so not really looking at anywhere too far out of the city centre. Not desperate to buy anything but if fate tempts me........... If anyone is around happy to meet up to kill a lonely evening or two.

Kdot should be able to help you in this I think he is a Glasgow man.

Warning though : He is really lazy so he won't come with you. If you want to find him go to the local supermarket and the cakes section.

"whisky & cigars" in West Nile Street.
Will post more detail when I get a chance. Think in some way tied in to Cgars though smallish selection and bit dearer.

Try google for Robert Graham Ltd, Glasgow.
Will get back to you next day or two, might manage to catch up with you briefly.

Robert Graham and thats really it for the city centre, Hotel du vin (great western road) have a small selection (in a floor standing humi) but dont expect anything special, however they do have the bothy where you can sit and light up.

For whisky again Robert graham, Buchanan galleries, also try peckhams in the merchant city area, They are open til midnight and have a very limited selection of tubos. There's also a peckhams on byers road but the merchant city store is larger.

If your looking for a place to wet your whistle Oran Mor on byers road/great western road have a big selection of Whiskys and hold whisky tasting nights now and then.

hope that is of some help.

Well ash permitting i'll be flying although it doesn't look likely. Guess i'll find out on Monday if it is still going ahead and if so probably end up driving.
