View Full Version : The boys get stuck in to the Behikes

Like a few people I have spoken too I resisted the temptation to smoke the Behike at the launch event.
I also had an idea to get Robusto to town and enjoy one with him. This week was half term so Robusto, Drewmidorn and I managed to get together in town and after a gentle warm up at 1a St James's street we managed to blag a table at Franco's opposite Davidoff and we got tore in.

We all smoked the BHK52 and for or those of you who haven't enjoyed one yet I think you are in for a real treat.
I retrospect I probably should have eaten a little more before we smoked because I was left with a severe case of the shakes. Still not sure if it was adrenaline or tobacco causing it but I am going to have 4 courses before I go anywhere near the BHK56.

So enough chat here are the pictures of a great afternoon:

And what were everyone's thoughts on the cigars? I mean, I get it that your facial hair trumps Cohiba Behikes, but I think it's time we get to the real matter at hand. 100/100 or what?

And what were everyone's thoughts on the cigars?

Well I've stocked up on a few of all 3 vitolas, and smoked (so far) one of each. I had a 56 just today.

I started with 52 and thought WOW, then had 54 and it was WOW, then 56....

WOW

Flippin expensive but who give a....

So the question now if you only had one Behike would you smoke it or age it? I can't figure out what to do myself :biggrin1:

r0lan6
08-06-2010, 08:33 AM
Personally I would age it, but if there was a cause to celebrate something special... :biggrin1:

Great mini herf :) Nic, next time you get nicotine poisoning, chug a can of Coke (or somesuch) and you'll be right again within 5 mins.

I think I'll be leaving the other three sticks we got at the launch for a couple of years. The 52 was a great smoke... added to by the great weather, francos, and of course the company.

I didn't find the cigar as powerful as i'd expected from some of the reports. That's not a bad thing just an observation.

Robusto
08-06-2010, 10:58 AM
I second all that.

Maxi-J

It really is a lovely smoke. Although I'd have to agree with Drew that it isn't terribly powerful. Just under medium for me.

Although on the basis of the two 52s that I've smoked so far, they do tend to get slightly more 'punchy' in the 2nd/final third. I also find the profile to be fairly static throughout. However, not only is that probably forgivable of a cigar of this size (52), but well, when they taste like that, who cares? :smoke:

These do get punchier in the last 1/3 especially the BHK 52 & BHK 54. The BHK 54 seems to be leading in the popularity poll 2-1 over the BHK 56. We have yet to hear a bad review for any of the three sizes and they are hard to keep in stock.
The argument at Mitch's herf in NYC, last week was to age or not to age. Some folks thought they would definitely benefit from a few years time. A few thought that with the cohiba aged tobacco, that aging would be unnecessary.
I'll leave that to the experts.
Enjoy your smokes.
Cheers
Drew P

I found the BHK54 to be refined and delicious when I smoked it.And I will agree,it was not what I'd call a powerhouse.

This is the sort of high quality banter we have come to expect from our American friends.

When they are not bashing the great British companies that keep their gas guzzling four by four and hummers on the road they are bickering about the size of some animated graphics.

I would have expected no more.

You're right. I should be spending more time talking about how your football team sucks! :eviltongue:

On the other hand, maybe I should just stick to cigar topics... :41:

What I'm worried about is the high likelihood that I may like it too much, consequently leading to me purchasing more... a never ending spiral down a financial abyss of uncertainty... ;) Of course if I had something good to celebrate that would soften the blow.

I wouldn't have wasted your money - I've smoked napkins with more complexity... ;)

If you want to dispose of these dog-rockets I'm sure someone will have them off your hands - you know the lack of standards around this place.
