Have you got any Dunhill pipe tobacco? maybe early morning brand as well as the mild?

No BUT its coming back at the end of July, i have some of the early morning pipe and the Medium Mixture on allocation (only 5 tins) i am still unsure on prices, as i havn't seen them yet. but i'm guessing based on the supplier its going to be around £10 a tin. I do know the Navy Rolls will be about £11-£12 a tin, this time (Due to Perique prices). If you want any putting aside please let me know.
I can still get the Mild Mixture but i wont be able to get it on the first batch, as i only chose 5 due to gantry size, but again it can be ordered for you.

Welcome, Glyn.
Do you know if you'll be stocking (or even if Dunhill will be making) Royal Yacht? My dad used to smoke that & now I occasionally puff a pipe, fancy trying it.

Sounds a lot like the clientèle we get in here.
Thanks for the responses, I look forward to chatting away with you all. I have been a serious smoker for 5 years but am always looking to learn more and share my knowledge.

Eugene, my understanding is that all of the old blends will be back and they will be the same as previously.

Really? I though Dunhill had quit making pipe blends…

Welcome aboard Glynn.
So, are Dunhill bringing back all their pipe tobacco's?
My favourite was 965 mixture. Last saw it in Spain last year. 5 euro's a tin. Like a fool I only bought one tin.
If you get any in let me know.

We have Early Morning Pipe, Flake, Royal Yacht, My Mix 965, Standard Medium Mixture, Navy Rolls on order in the first batch, should know prices after Tuesday. Then we will be taking pre orders, will keep you all posted. Can also get London Mixture but not stocked due to shop size. I still have 4 spaces to clear, but if people want it.
Right then folks, due the lack of increase on tobacco duty. You can now preorder your Dunhill Tobaccos. £10.50 per tin apart from De Lux Navy Rolls which is £11.50 due to the costs of true Perique.
If you take 5 tins, its £50 (or £55 navy rolls) with free postage (Listed as £45.05 and £4.95 postage). Not ordered a great amount as unsure on the amount of interest. First come first served, all later orders will be a few weeks later.
All Nottingham residents if you want to pick up from shop please call us 0115 911 0555
My pipe tobacco cupboard is waiting on the Navy Rolls.
(Oh this is Gauntleys BTW)

Nothing major, I'm just more than a little dubious that perique in a blend adds a whole quid to the cost of a tin. There are lots of perique blends out there containing higher perique content (even the St James' Parish leaf) than De Luxe Navy Rolls that are nowhere near as expensive. Seems a bit of a marketing ploy, is all.
That said, it's very good to see Dunhill coming back - it's been sorely missed. Do you happen know who is blending it this time? Before it was stopped, it was Orlik in Denmark (Scandanavian Tobacco Group). Have they started up again, or is it another blender? I tried emailing Tor Imports but they haven't replied.

I have to pay about £5 more the Navy Rolls. I wish it was the same price, but we can only play with the cards we are dealt. I have been told its more per tin because of the use of true Perique.
I have been asking about the blender too, so far i have had no answer. The info is taking a while to come across from BAT to Tor to Me, if anyone else finds out please let me know.
Some importers charge a lot more than others do(Rattrays & McConnell will be cheaper soon ;) ), but when you can only buy one supplier, we are at there mercy. If we dont stock due to price some one else (online) will.
I just hope you dont see this as us trying to charge more for one of my favourite tobaccos.

Doesn't matter to me - I will have other, cheaper sources. It's a shame someone's charging you more and giving you a bad reason for doing so.

Hi, happy to 'out' myself as a representative of Tor Imports.
I can confirm that when BAT de-listed Dunhill Pipe Tobaccos in 2007, Navy Rolls were selling at £9.49 and the rest of the range at £8.53, showing then, as now, a significant price difference due to the cost of product.
It has taken 3 years for us to convince BAT to re-launch Dunhill for the UK market this year which is great news for pipe tobacco smokers, the bad news is that they outsource the production and the production runs will be relatively small which will both reflect in the cost price to the importer.
In an ideal world, of course we would like to see the RRP below what it will be, but as always the challenge will be to sell more, which we hope would lower the cost prices from the manufacturer as they produce more, which rest assured we would want to pass onto the retailer and ultimately the consumer.

This just in from a 'Very reliable source':
"The Dunhill tobacco will still be made by Orlik in Denmark and the launch date appears to be July"

Virginias and virginia/perique blends will age almost indefinitely (hitting a peak around 15 - 20 years and gaining little except continued smoothness after that). Latakia blends peak around 5 years (any longer is a waste, imho). Don't bother ageing aromatics. Glass mason jars are good for bulk tobacco (as long as they have a good rubber seal). I like just storing tins. Try not to let baccy get too hot or cold - keep it 10-25c if possible.

Same for me, just want to get a good selection of tins. Thanks for the great advice again , pretty much learned everything i know about pipes from you and your recomendations. Your breaking in system is working really well, getting a nice cake forming on my Savinelli :)

Hi guys, sorry for my UKCF silence, been very busy. I will be on here a lot next week as i have a week off :)
Bad news on the Dunhill front, there has been another delay, have been told middle to late August now.
I knew letting people know dates wasn't the best idea i have ever had!
Will let you all know as and when i know.
