Heading off to Guernsey next week on some business for a couple of days. Does anybody have any info of if there is a reasonable place to buy or smoke cigars? I had a search on google and get no hits which suprises me.
Cheers

Oddly enough, I was looking for cigar shops on Jersey a couple of days back [on the web] and had no luck. Will be interested to hear if they exist!

Google "guernsey tobacconists" and you'll see a few.

According to Robert Fox Guernsey/Jersey are 'THE' most expensive places to buy cigars and it is my understanding that they can only be purchased from the likes of Oddbins/Nicolas and those sort of outlets...
Be interested to hear if you have any luck...!?!

Actually, I'm not sure if EA Carey sells Cubans - they are primarily a pipe shop (home of Carey's "Magic Inch" pipes). Might be worth a local phone call when you get there before going to the shop.

I go to Jersey alot... I'd take cigars with you! There is one shop at the bottom of the hi street in St Helier, on the right as it curves round as you head towards the sea, that has a fair few decent sticks but you won't be buying boxes if its good priced you're looking for.

Unfortunatly there are no cigar shops left in Guernsey, the last one Bucktrouts closed a few years ago. The Old Government House hotel is about the most smoking friendly place left with a great terrance with wonderful views over to Jersey.
The last remaining cigar shop in Jersey is run by Chris Denis and is opposite the Town Hall in St Helier. A great place to smoke would be the terrance at the Grand Hotel overlooking Elizabeth Castle..
Enjoy, but if you are visiting Guernsey only, I would recommend you take your own with you....
