...a mid-day JLP Conservas which I am glad to say, whilst not expensive, tasted and smoked well. I'm inexperienced in description, but I'll try: this is quite well spiced and earthy without being raw. Even burn, although interrupted for an 6mm or so by a vein, but continued on nicely down to the band. Not an unnattractive-looking cigar, which I guess is machine made.

A beautiful dark cigar. My first Rocky Patel. Aircraft hangers of blue dense smoke. Sweet taste (to me) that reminded me of white bread fresh from a toaster.

Unwittingly becoming my hard nut soldier Dad. He liked cigars sometimes, too.

:hat:I was a RP fan for years, but haven't smoked many lately.:rip:
My Humidor is full of the older ones when they were the Indian Tobac Cigar Co, including an old box of Churchill Maduros tubos.

That Rocky Patel looks a nice stick. Great contrast in colour to your hand there, dark and exotic. I've just finished off a R y J Exhibicion No.4, which slowly built up in intensity during the second third. Nice way to finish off going out for eats this evening (even getting to smoke whilst the wife is here:smoke:, bonus.

I had a Bolivar Petit Corona after an amazing dinner last night. Most tasty-almost burnt my fingers!
Pity it was so cold wandering about the sea-side, but it was nice walking back knowing there would be roaring open fires and a bar at the hotel.

:41:Sounds wonderful, Davereve999.
The Bolivar is one of my favorites. Were you allowed to smoke in the bar?

Unfortunately not TJ; a pity really as that would have crowned the evening perfectly! I'm looking forward to the summer like you can't believe.
