:cowboyic9: Howdy all.

I'm new here in the UK, in the process of moving over here for work from Dallas, Texas.

Been smoking cigars for almost 2 years now, and looking forward to some legal cubans.

I've done some searching on google/yahoo but can't seem to find any cigar bars outside of London. My wife and I are in temp housing here in Northampton and I'm trying to find a place I can buy singles local and also some place to smoke 'em. Seems there's a smoking ban indoors. Does that include cigar shops? (assuming there are any around here)

I've got a car, so I can travel some, been to Milton Keynes already, just looking for some places closer than London. Thanks!

Looks like the jetlag hadn't worn off. I found that UK Smokers and No 1. Cigar Club are both in Milton Keynes...anyone been to either, or know of another place in this area they prefer? Thanks.

Welcome! I can't help you with either of your requests I'm afraid, but I thought I'd say hello.

I do recall there being a thread somewhere about cigar bars/clubs though... Might be in the 'Herf meets' section?

Welcome, Fish!

Your indoor smoking days in public are pretty much doomed in the UK, mate.

Welcome to the forum! :cowboyic9:

Hi Fish there is a newsagents next door to Debenhams in Northampton that has a small selection of some pretty decent singles (the usual tubed montes and R&Js including Churchills and Cohiba Siglo VIs). I've never bought there myself.

You and you're good lady wife are always welcome to come over to Kettering and have a smoke at mine in front of the fire!

Thanks for all the well wishes, seems like botls all over the world are just as friendly as at home! So does the indoor public smoking ban include cigar shops (clubs, whatever) as well?

I can almost understand the ban at places that serve food, cater to kids, etc but I won't ever understand no indoor smoking at a place that is a cigar bar/club/etc.

Drewmidorn, thanks for the info on the newstand, and the offer for a fire. I'm heading back stateside at the end of the week to get things wrapped up there but once we get settled, we just might take you up on that.

I genuinely have an open house...I'm thinking of having a revolving door fitted so you are always welcome.

Those doors always seem like a good idea until you have to move stuff in and out. That plus it's hard to keep thieves and mooches out. You'll have to hire a door man.

I'll be honest if anyone breaks in and finds anything worth stealing I'll go halves with them!

Welcome! I've just arrived on here myself and it's a very relaxed and amiable place, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

As others have said you'll be in for a rude awakening when it comes to where you can and can't smoke, especially during these cold months, but you can always moan about it on here! ;)
