Went up to Hadrians Wall (Birdoswald fort) last week with my little lad, then to Carlisle for the castle (been before, both places are great). I knew that there was a cigar shop/tobacconist in Carlisle so made sure that a visit there was on my list.

As it happens this is somewhere that kids (of all ages!) will be happy to go to because the front half of the shop is an old-fashioned sweet shop with loads of jars of almost everything (but strangely given the location not the old sweet tobacco that looked like ready rubbed pipe stuff but was made from coconut and absolutely delicious!).

Anyway, the rear of the shop has a corner that is a cigar humidor - not massive, but a reasonable choice of cubans in particular and at reasonable prices too. Elsewhere there are plenty of pipes and loose tobacco for sale (got myself some lovely Kendal flake for my pipe). Staff are really friendly and it was a nice place to look around so I would definately recommend it to anyone who finds themselves in the area (Carlisle itself is a nice little town to wander around so plenty to do).

My Dad and brother were raving about this a few weeks back and says the stuff from this website is pretty close to the stuff from days gone by.
