You missed out the last part . . 'except in prisons and submarines'.

Submariners are a strange breed but when you you have been ??? meters deep, the reactor has scrammed and your sphincter is doing 5p 50p and you are relying on each and every person to do their job correctly the first time or you might not see the surface again it creates a bond that you can't find anywhere else. Just a shame you can't smoke on board anymore.

There was this one time, when the freezer compartment on the boat I was on packed up. . and we were three days from port.

Three days!!

The relief when we finally get some ice for our Margarita's. . I can't tell you. Still gives me nightmares.
Thankfully, we err. . Seamen are a hardy breed!
