New York.
Walking the streets below the massive skyscrapers.
Magic and quite unforgettable for this Englishman. :biggrin1:
Deleted the pictures- idiot - but fully intend to go back in the future.

That's the very same hotel in Havana me and the family will be staying in in October, mate! Looks sublime!
Am I right - something in a previous post - that that was the first cigar you ever smoked?

Not really, had many NC from my Dad etc. Probably first real Cuban. All really started from that one though. 1/2 months later this site was set up...

Glad you're staying there, I did recommend it. Best hotel in Havana mate. Non-government owned. Nice Cigar shop too, with a smoking area in it with leather seats, tv etc. It's where I bought my cigars in the end. There's a cigar factory literally 150 yards away too.

I guess mine would have to be sipping caparinhas in the garden at the Hotel Nationale in Havana, watching the sun set over the water. The wife and I treated ourselves to a night there during our belated honeymoon in January.

Great, cj! Seems like Havana is pretty memorable for this!
Any snaps?

In relation to the sunset, just got this crappy one off the 'phone, but lots of others which I will reduce and post a few up Bryan.

One of the Nationale and one of me and one of local girls who cruise for pictures. It was interesting as there are girls/women that dress up in old traditional attire and pester for pictures. This woman just plonked herself down in the relative shade, I popped over and we spoke about the 'touristy' aspects of hassling people for photos: she said "...honey, I just wait for them to come to me" I liked her style:smile:

Some great shots there Deano, I wish I'd have had the inkling to take some shots of sticks. TBH, I didn't know about my hobby to be at that point. Did you find the decent hotels had probably some of the cheapest prices? I bought a box of 10 RyJ No.2 for about ?27, crazy.

I wondered if the women hovered for snaps!

I have a pic of one of those women too, they do tend to - a couple outside the Parque Central in the park. Their seem to be some debates etc in the square too, I'd stay clear tbh, I think they're political, and there's police with machine guns walking about heh.

Make sure you take advantage Bryan. If I had my time again, with the increased experience I've picked up from the forum, it'd be puro central coming through.:smoke::smoke::smoke:

Was there a limit on how many you could bring home, cj?
I've read somewhere that they are very strict at Customs on the way back.

Yep 50 per person. But considering none of the rest of your family smoke, you should be ok! Ensure you have your receipts on you. And DO NOT take more than your allowance.

Christ! That'll be 200 puros pour moi, if a 17 year old (my younger boy) will count as a person.
That's four times the capacity of my desktop humidor!
Anyone selling?!
How exciting! :biggrin1:

Deano's spot on with 50 and using other's allowances. In terms of leaving Cuba, there is word that their customs can get akward if you don't have proof of purchase, so make sure you keep your receipts Bryan. Don't be tempted to buy off the street dealers that promise cheap gear down the road: inevitably they're going to be snide, a few good ones in a box/pack maybe. I bought a pack of three RyJ No.1s at our resort, two smoked terribly. Kosher packaging, apart from the Habanos seals and looked very genuine, including bands, but pooh. Possible seconds?
You're going to be in heaven mate.:hail:

Yeh do NOT buy from the street. And do not even agree to go with them just to check them out.

I've read that, and I've touched and smoked banana leaves, I think (masterorock!).

cool pics , Im dead jealous of all you that have been.
I guess the best time for me was new years 2007, the heated outdoors area of my then local, I produced 3 Monte limted eds from 2003 and they were divine, even my bro who isnt much of a smoker agreed they rocked.
