I was given a box of these Jamaican last year from a friend who had been there on hols.
I am not a fair judge to go by as I haven't really found any NC's I really enjoy but I found recorded this (which was in good condition), 'good amount of smoke, bitter after taste, left a large third'. Gave it only 70points.
Still I would have gone for the box too, looks interesting & useful.
With the weather in the background this shot could have been taken this January but it was last January.

this arrived today does anyone have any info on this ,age etc
on the box royal jamaica directors choice made from cedar by the smell .
sticker on the box has a map of jamaica with cornwall/middlesex/surrey could this be from when us british were there, maybe an idea to age ?
the single cigar is wrapped in old felty type paper the cigar feels a bit too spongy to moist .
how should i keep this will this come back to life if i place in my humidor ?

i like the box will make a handy antique travel case for 3 cigars ,should i also keep this in hummi to keep it at the correct RH?

Reminds me of a KDT wrapped in rice paper.I think it would be an idea to take paper off and inspect the cigar if you haven't already and let us know how it smokes

had a peek and it looks in good condition was a bit moist so needs some time in hummi before smokeing

No worries there SG the paper has no effect on the cigar whatsoever.. except to collectors.. bit worried about the moist though - in comparison to what?

no worrys now what i meant was it seemed to have a bit more pinch but since its been in humi it now has just the right give when squeezed , im dieing to smoke this but if its old i may hang onto it,dont really want to smoke it if its the last of a few made.
if its readily availabe no worrys about lighting it up was hopeing someone on here knew a bit more about these ,from what i have found on google seems these were produced in jamaica for the uk during the war if its one of these i may hang onto it but if its post war it can go up in smoke lol

I would have said 'Lurking' rather than 'dashing'. :biggrin1:
