Hi folks - I lurked a few months ago and then fell away from the group. Last weekend Deano sent me a reminder about the site and I have to say I'm really glad he did. This seems a very lively forum with lots going on.
I'm from a wee town just outside of Perth, Scotland. Pharmacist. Married with two kids. I only ever smoke Cubans and I usually only smoke at weekends except on the holidays when it seems to be every single night! Oh yeah :41:
I'll definitely be checking in every chance I get from now on

One of my best mates is a Research Scientist at Pfizer just down the road from here in Sandwich. He weighed up the pros and cons of smoking a couple of good cigars a week and reckoned the pleasure was a good gamble for the health risks.
Saw you are a pharmacist. What are your thoughts as a man of Science?
I do fuck all else that is vaguely naughty so I'm happy to ride the wave of fat cigar risk.

Bryan - I have a couple a week and I genuinely believe that the whole process of relaxation that smoking a Cuban provides lowers my BP and probably does me some real good. Happily, my wife agrees

Yup. My missus has come to the same conclusion, too. And I know it does me a stack of good in my nut. I do get gloomy and depressed sometimes, but a good cigar clears the blues and restores the good views for me. I dress as a cowboy often and go pretty ape so chomp a fat stick as I click my spurs. I like to combine sensual pleasures. All in all, it's a tasty boost and I wouldn't like to do without it.

My father is an avid smoker.
He's a leading process scientist for Glaxosmithkliene...
But that doesn't mean it's not bad!

A cigar man, Deano?
Or a lost cause?

I 100% agree with everything you just said especially regarding it being a mood-elevator when gloomy....although, the cowboy bit I'm stepping away from :biggrin1:

It is a hoot, Sir. It stems from having been bowled over in a few bars in New Mexico and Texas by awesome country players. I think a Stetson suits me so I've just gone with it. I wear cowboy stuff when I play in our band from time to time. The hats are a show-off tool - just like fat, joyous cigars. All helps to keep the mood buoyant.
If it suits and you love it, just get on with it. That's really a personal credo now.
Cigars in all their shades and varieties are just wonderful so I'll be jabbing at people with them forever, I reckon.
I like to be bad and lapse and be dirty from time to time. Cue a phat cigar.
I'm an awayday scoundrel. Harmless.
Just having fun!
Nice, like you, to have a missus who "understands". :smoke:

My missus thinks I'm a daft old fart as well. Suits me......If she can own 50 shoes when she's only got two feet.......I can have twenty cigars when I've only got one mouth.
